Great word, used in the English language for centuries. Interestingly, it's the only word that refers to the entirety of a woman's genitalia.

It was actually men who effectively outlawed the word, viewing it as 'a vulgar word for a vulgar thing.'

I knew the rhyming slang but didn't associate calling someone a berk with it.

The other rhyming slang is "grumble" short for "grumble and grunt".
