Clearing out food cupboards

As I was just panicking about how much food I have.

I started a clear out.

My honey is a year out of date.

My sugar is like a brick

An unopened Nutella jar is 5 months out of date.

And two pot Noddles is 3 months out.

I thought I checked every thing every week when shopping.

But it's the fact that I just pushed them at the back I just checked the stuff I normally eat lol

Anyone else found any old food stuff? Oh a tin of mushroom soup two months but that's safe for a few years yet. Lol

Not so bad with food but stuff like cough syrup can be years out of date when I clear out the medicine cabinet.

I'm always going through my parents fridge and chucking out yogurt that's green and lettuce that's liquid in a plastic bag

I often find food out of date in my food cupboard, I thru some soup out a few weeks ago that was out if date last year and tins last for years that's how long that's been in there

My bathroom cabinet is just as bad especially medicines...

Funny thou the chocolate draw never as anything out of date

Last year I found an old packet of Opal Fruits and a tube of cream that is used for burns which said - "use by April 1999".

If it's real honey as long as it's sealed and not contaminated with other products like syrup and such it won't expire, honey is the only food stuff besides McDonalds food that doesn't spoil. Honey in jars in Egypt found 2000 years later perfectly edible. It's antimicrobial and can reduce inflammation. It makes a great wound barrier, basically it can be used for a whole host of health benefits. Plus tastes better than sugar so replacing that in hot drinks is good. Sugar is empty calories honey is not and added benefits. This is why I couldnt be vegan, love honey too much. One day il own my own apiary.

The other stuff best before dates are a guideline. Unopened products have a great shelflife.
