We have been to Patong, Phuket, the last 2 years. While we loved it both times, we feel we have bought the T-shirt, so to speak.

Any recommendations of 2 week beach holiday in Thailand where we can make a base and island hop for a couple of days if we wish?

Thanks, we done Phi Phi Don twice, and Koh Lanta, while it's beautiful, you couldn't spend 2 weeks there.

Koh Samui looks wonderful, but we also want a vibrant nightlife, does Koh Samui give you that?

Samui has fantastic nightlife an loads to do and see! Short boat ride to phangan and again to tao. Been 15 times and love it

Koh Samui..... just head for Green Mango complex.... all the nightlife you'll ever need and more

Koh samui is nice. Koh tao and phangan are abit backpacker (imo) esp koh tao!

Samui has a good all rounder, nice island, nice restaurants, nice hotels/resorts at a mixture of budgets, rent a scooter and ride around the island for a day (doesnt take a day but with stop offs ad beaches and view points ect ect its nice to spend the day!)

Id recommend staying near bophut / fishermans village as its out of the hustle and bustle you get nicer acomodation and a short tuktuk into the hustle and bustle on an evening. Feel free to PM of you want / need any advice on thailand.

Just returned from koh samuai and I'd disagree with most it wants to be mainland but isn't smaller islands for tripping mainland for holiday is what I do though it is big in comparison to others
