Well I had a bit of a shock this afternoon. My daughter has a facebook account, she does not have the password and the allerts are sent to my phone. My phone beepped and I read what can only be described as a detailed account of my swinging activities.The clubs and socials that I have attended in the past. I have never discussed with my vanilla friends my sexual prefferences nore what I do. You can imagine I was shocked at first, then went on to block and report and further check setting on her account. I wish if people had a problem they could talk instead of sending nasty messages to a minor !!!

What I must add is the fact Ive not been swinging for over a year now due to cancer, treatment and the effects of both. Just felt like a little rant as i have no idea who sent the nasty message as the account was only set up today and seemed totally false.

How old is she,,as sending sexual message to a minor is a criminal offence...and it could be worth telling the twunt who sent the message that they are one step away from ending up on the sex offenders register...

i take it you meen the account that sent the messages was ony set up today

who ever it was report it and block it and keep an eye out because if they have doen it once they could well do it again

In what way did it talk about you ?

Did it say 'Your mother cooks socks on the internet ? '

Or did it just 'link' everything up like Facebook does......e.g addies, numbers , sites everything.

I hate facebook. I never accept friends on it and im on under a diff name and e mail. Only my family and friends know its me.

Someone told me FACEBOOK is set up or used by the C.I.A.

Don't know how much truth there is in that tho

I have the details of the police station I used sometime ago when someone phoned me from a witheld number and threatened my life: with much luck, its the same fool starting again.

No idea what so ever as to who might be behind this. As I say Ive not been out for the last year due to chemo and radiotherapy and the after effects of the treatment, havnt been to Chams in nearly 2 years. Seems very strange, But my other children have accounts (they are in their 20's) nothing has ever been sent to them.

you maybe need to report this to facebook as thay have rule and your family should never be at risk from things you do ..... mail them tell them whats gone on ok x

Yes. Let me get this right. Your daughter has set up a facebook account but her message alerts go to your phone! FB couldn't possibly link you to swinging clubs etc through your phone number could they? And if they can, surely they must ask permission before they publically display this info?

This sounds really strange. I still haven't got my head around what's happened. Has someone hacked your daughter's FB account who knows about your swinging past? At least if you found this out and the account was only set up that day, then you can close it and explain it's the work of a hacker to your daughter.

It's a horrible thing to have happen most especially as your daughter may have been subjected to explicit sexual material. The worrying thing is who is behind the FB messages. Must be someone who knows you and doesn't care about subjecting your daughter to this info. I really hope it's all sorted out and that it doesn't happen again. Sending hugs . xx

If I've read it right:

I assume that means while the account is for her daughter (a minor), OP has full control of the account, hence why the alerts are sent to her phone.

The real question is who is callous enough to have worked out her real name, her daughter's profile and then decide to send indecent messages to the minor's profile.

I steer well clear of facebook so Im not aure how it works, but were the message addressed to you 'you do xyz' or to your daughter 'your mother does xyz'?

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I have tried to be a watchful parent in regards to my child and the internet. This is why they dont have the password to the account and all the notifications come to my email linked to my phone.

We have had trouble with someone off here contacting us (through a different media) and making blackmail threats, can't say more than that at the mo as its still under investigation and charges will be brought.

The Ip address of the guilty party was traced within minutes and the old bill had the name and address of the sender in no time. This person has more to loose than we have and we will see it through to the bitter end.

You have done nothing wrong!!

Nobody can post messages on my facebook account unless I've accepted them as friends first - and nobody gets accepted as a friend unless I actually know: them, their birthdays, their surnames, the pets name, where they went to school (usually the same place as me) and what their favourite food is!

thats what i was thinking so thay must be on there friends list ..... i would be looking at that as this need sorting out .

no that's not true. The standard set up is that anyone can send you an email.

To change this go to Privacy Settings/How to Connect - click on Edit Settings/Who can send you Facebook messages? - Click on Friends only

Really shocking story btw.

As an apt FB user myself someone who knows you very well has it in for you. They created a fake FB account just to contact your daughter.

As a lady already going through a very difficult time this must be horrific. The only way to stop them is to go to the police.

I had the same thing happen to me, someone sent my daughter a link to my account here.

It was by a woman who is now an ex-friend. Check your friends and check again. This is the last thing you need.

I do wish you well, I personally know chemo and radio therapies are stressful without adding to the mental stress with this. ((( hugs )))

We think the person sending the nasty email, made the connection after a family member tagged everybody in a recent family photo. Ther person sending the nasty email wasnt a friend to any of us but must have been watching MY account. The highest privacy seting are on both accounts .

Has anybody seen how many things you have to check or uncheck on facebook these days to set up all the privacy !!!!

That is a nasty and disgusting individual who needs something real bad. Why cant people leave others alone and get on with there own lives sad people. We got reported before when we were on here so closed account but all sorted now. Hope the treatment is doing its job and you are a better person than them hold your chin up and dont let them get to you

i looked at it like a stalker and thinking if thay can do this to family what would thay do next . I hope thay are stoped and sorted out as over the years i had somthing a little like this .. but was at a party before we got there ...i was told who it was and sorted it out and thank god i did ..

I went and got some advise from our friendly policeman over the road. All is in hand and investigations are afoot.

Good for you for reporting it. That was a disgusting thing to do and like someone said above, I'm sure sending sexually explicit messages to a minor is an offence. Big hugs Ms x
