A dog is far more dependant on attention compared to a cat imo . personally I prefer dogs to cats anyway . both are cute and fluffy though,

For me I just find dogs much more social vs cats , prob cost more though to keep in the long run ,, our old long hair German Shep cost a bomb with haircutting, vets , food , insurance

It depends on your circumstances and which will fit in to your lifestyle better. If there is no difference why not get both then they will grow up together and get along, which will be better than if you decide to get the one you didn't get now at a later date.

Breed both kittens and puppies all full pedigree, let me know if you need some good solid advice on both, will give you good and bad of both

In a sleepy little village

I have both and love them dearly.

Dogs are very dependant on you , I'm forever clock watching how long I've been out etc so they are a tie especially if you have a busy social life.

Cats like affection on their terms. Far less dependant and you can easily go out without worrying.

If you go away frequently cats are much cheaper to board or get home care so it's worth taking that into account too.

If you go for a dog , take into account the amount of exercise it will need in all weathers.

Whichever you chose please think about a rescue as there is hundreds of dogs and cats desperate for a home

Rabbit, guineapig, lizard, snake, rat, gerbil and all other rodent pets, ferret, fish, birds, insects, arachnids etc

Kitten is great till it's chewing your cables and scratching furniture. Puppy is great till it chews cables and chews the furniture. Have to allow for issues it's all part of being an owner.

I love dogs and cats but I've also had many other pets in my lifetime too. Each have been like family. But every pet has different costs and different issues. Calculate damages, calculate vet costs, and calculate care how much time do they need with your attention, do they need company? Research is essential that includes if looking to get a puppy or a kitten. Breed requirements and breed specific ailments.

I've had pedigree dogs and I've had mongrels/mixed breed. Knowing what you have to deal with is essential in how you care for them with every stage of their life. No matter what pet you get research is important.

Maine Coons. All the fun and independence of cats, plus the loyalty and interaction of dogs. Mine come for walks with me and swim in the lake with me. They also take themselves for walks and spend many hours playing with each other. Better entertainment than a TV.

Well I’ve a zoo so to speak and depends on your time also as if you’ve a dog you’ve got to give it the time and have time for daily walks and alike but with a cat it’s less full on you don’t need to walk them daily etc

But as it’s any pet you get back what you put in each has there own needs and personality and if you treat them well and look after them you will reap the rewards of loyalty, friendship and companionship and yes that’s with most pets As you can train them all even fish and reptiles

Get a Rat.

Intelligent, clean, loyal, loving. Why bother with regular when you can have a rat? Cheaper to insure, live 3 years so you haven't got one hanging around for years after years. They can learn tricks, they're cheap to buy and cheap to keep. Fresh veg and dried food is all they need. Prefer rats to dogs and cats any day

We have both, the cat is so easy to look after if we go away we leave her at home and a friend comes in to feed her, the dog we have a husky he needs long walks at least twice a day and he has full run of the outside when he wants and costs a fortune to kennel when we go away, they both have good and bad things, if you want a cat and a dog in 1 get a savannah looks like a cat, plays like a cat, can take it for walks on a lead, can bath it and play ball with it, that's my next pet but husband says no
