Have you ever refused a meet because of the state of someone's home?

Has a home been so unclean and untidy that you couldn't go through with a meet? I just think that if they are lazy around the home, then what else are they careless with x

No, I've never been to anyone's house that made me want to walk back out, thankfully.

I did see a picture of a guys bedroom with a banana peel just lying on the carpet, which I thought was a bit strange.

Mingeman used to have amazing pics for spotting odd stuff in the background, I miss him.

It isn't so much that people live in untidy houses but the fact that they haven't even got the common sense to realise that the pic they are posting is going to look ridiculous and off-putting. Saw one today and there were stubbed out cigarettes and empty beer bottles everywhere in the background. Surely your own decency compass would say "no, I can't post that"

Untidy background and sheer filth get a instant judgement with no interest.

Theres lived in and then there's mess. If Sir has requested photos I dont bother if i have the washing pile or clothes airer behind me, its life. Wouldn't ever dream of having bottles and boxes, dirty washing, rubbish, etc in photos for fab.

The ones I cant stand is the bedrooms with piles as high as wardrobes like a dumping ground.

Also cant stand a toilet in a photo

Swinging can be a risky business; risk from exposure, attack, diseases... So it's only natural that most people have their 'antenna' up, looking for clues, where ever they can find them, to get some kind of understanding as to whether or not someone is a risk. I do it all the time.

I haven't hoovered in weeks, it's just too painful, and if I accidentally drop something in the floor it tends to stay there as it's difficult to get down there to rescue it. I wouldn't judge others by the state of their bedroom and I'd never have meets at all if I had to tidy mine 1st.

I don't like toilet pictures either though but that's cause it shows a lack of imagination rather than anything else.

Really? All those risks - how do you get through the day? I get that we all manage risks, but you start by working our how likely a risk is, and make a proportionate response. I get that some people might not like an untidy house, and that an aesthetic response might say 'I don't fancy a shag in those circumstances' but the correlation between quantifiable risk and an untidy house hasn't been demonstrated to me by anything in this thread.

We're all differnet too - show me a house where there are ten dog turds on the floor (cited elsehwere in the thread) and I'll be turned off, not by the whiff of shit but the stench of animal cruelty - if you can't take your dog out and clean up after it you're just a bad dog owner.

Mr Icebreaker.

My house isn't a hospital clean room but I keep it clean, had some guys chat to me and the photos they send showing the state of their bedroom are just horrible. If you can't look after your room ladies and gents not many will want to meet even if you're a God or Goddess.

Last year we got in touch with a couple and were due to meet up but my wife unfortunately had to work on the day this couple wanted to meet. Originally we were to meet, daytime, at a pub but at the last minute they changed it to their house.

I explained that it would only be me (male) but they insisted that I should go over. I am a very tidy person and personal clealiness is a must.

I was met at the door by the guy who's first words before even "hello" was "take your shoes off and leave them outside because we had a new carpet a month ago".

His "wife" was quite pleasant but I got the impression he had got cold feet (and me with no shoes). He kept disappearing for two or three minutes at a time. The whole thing lasted about 45 minutes and there was no physical contact whatso ever.

When I left I wasn't even shown to the door. Luckily my shoes were still outside.

Certainly one of the more bizarre meets I have encountered.

Went to one couples home it was very untidy so made my excuses and left, won't bring wife to anyone's house before I check it out first now. So most our meets tend to be at club

I think the decency compass should be applied to lots of photos on Fab and not just because of the mess in the background!

I'm not the most attractive woman but I know which pictures I look best in and I only post the best ones. After all we're advertising ourselves in this meat market!
