Pornography some love it some dislike it.

What in your humble opinion has it popularised that you wish it hadn't? Does it do more harm than good?

Do you feel more confident after watching porn? Does it encourage you to try new things?

Opinions, experiences and respectful, inclusive and kind comments below please

It's never inspiring but all other descriptions are valid, depending on the subject matter and quality.

Don't think I have watched any since we started swinging.

There was a documentary a while back with some teenagers who watched porn and the effects were not positive.

Brighton - even Hove!

It’s too easily available to younger people they are easily influenced and some can find it challenging to differentiate between ‘acting’ porn and real life so might treat their sexual partner like they’ve seen in porn, maybe extreme porn.

We both enjoy it although different things a lot of the time . I think it’s healthy most of the time...such a shame the Brits are so uptight about it as a nation

I'm not a fan, so I don't watch it. Personally I think it can do a lot of harm.

Biggest problem people think porn is the reality of sex. They don't consider how it isn't what good sex is. It also puts unrealistic expectations on people. Porn is great fantasy wise and good for a quick wank but people need to watch less porn and read more on sex to learn more about sex. Then practice makes perfect.

I dislike porn, realised early doors watching it just added unnecessary pressure on me to perform as seen in Debbie Does Dallas & the like.

If anything, these days I'm scared to head to a porn site for fear of seeing something that has the complete opposite affect, it's not like the Playboy mags we used to hide from our parents anymore

Like everything

Can be good in moderation.

Too many seem to feel that they need to be the people on the screen.

They don’t get that it’s a film with breaks between shooting, fluffier s to keep the guys up for it etc.

Can’t understand slamming what does that do for anyone ?

So good for some and not so for others in a nutshell.

I think It is ok if you realise not much of it is reality, and that seems to be the issue with the younger generation. I have got bored of a lot of it and would prefer to be on here having some real fun. I think I have watched a lot less since being on here.

It quite often makes it look like sex is something that's done *to* a woman rather than something she's actively involved in

I do watch porn but think the ubiquity of it comes with some seriously harmful side effects.

"It quite often makes it look like sex is something that's done *to* a woman rather than something she's actively involved in"

This is exactly what the documentary with the teenagers showed. The attitude of the teenage lads was not good at all.

And the girls felt pressure to give the boys what they wanted and to look a certain way. Sad really.

Yes I can imagine.

Watching it with a mature and experienced mind, one immediately spots the unrealistic and unpleasant aspects.

Kids don't have that breadth of worldly knowledge.

That all being said, it's a useful tool.

Just like most other things, it's upto the person who uses porn. If it's just about watching and shagging, no problem at all. You need to have control of how much of that seeps into your real life.

We love porn, turns us on and gives us ideas and we love making our own.

Makes me laugh when early evening family tv is murder and violence often plunging into gore for the evening but god forbid we would ever see people smushing their bits together.

I don't think people are complaining about it being people fucking.

Most straight porn woman gets one finger in her snatch and she's moaning like she's just spent 10 mins riding the washing machine.

Then it's guys rubbing a clit for a minute then moving on to fucking then it's the "orgasms" from the woman even the guys ejaculation scenes most are faked these days to get the squirt effect.

It's unrealistic and men who have been glued to porn haven't a clue.

I've met guys even guys older than me copying porn as if it's gospel about sex. One guy I met older than me thought 5 clit swirls and then asking me every minute if I've cum yet, he even thought cock pumping and cock ring and driving over his cock would remain big and hard.

The guys who ram a cock down my throat and try skull fuck me. I'm not a porn star I don't enjoy it and it takes more than a clit flick and a few pokes to make me cum.

The anal to vaginal takes on porn, most of these women have a serious anal douching session beforehand. The facial shots it's all become trend due to porn.

Want good sex I have a list of books I could suggest and they aren't porn. But porn has a lot to answer for with its fake shit.

But why does porn have to be 'real'?, nothing else is. It sounds like my partner loves and enjoys stuff you dont and likes to watch it so there is no 'one size fits all'

I think it has its uses in the right circumstances, but I treat it as what it is, staged adult drama.

I think it can be extremely helpful. However, I think it can have a detrimental impact on young people and their view of sex.

I've known young girls who thought it was normal to let a guy cum on their face, whether they wanted it or not. (I don't mean 'normal' in any kind of judgemental sense, of course.)

I've also known young women beat themselves up because they did not squirt.

With men, I think it has expanded the definition of vanilla. So, a hand round the neck might not even seem like rough sex and is little more than 'slap and tickle.'

Lots of young men also seem to presume that anal is always on the table nowadays too.

Porn doesn't have to be real that's the point in it ,the majority of us know it's fake , just like EastEnders or Corri or what ever else you choose to watch , porn is about enjoyment and watching something that excites you , it's about fantasies not all porn is the same their is a billion and one different categories out their what doesn't suit you may suite someone else ,as a couple we enjoy porn both together and apart. For us it isn't a issue

Whilst I agree not everyone understands that though.

I like watching porn as a means to an end, so to speak, but I can see it's harm if it's the only sex education someone receives.

Depends on whose watching it.

A mature, balanced adult could find it erotic, inspiring, escapism, empowering, educational or simply boring.

For a youth or an immature person it could be damaging in that it could set them the wrong impression of sex and the psychology of lust.

I see it in the same way as violent video games or movies, safe for the target audience.

couple, us we him her.

People have become dangerously desensitised to porn and a whole generation has grown up with the tarnished view that every sex session should be like a scene from a porno.

However the other side of the coin it's also helped making people more open about sex and probably more inclined to seek advice from a friend or medical professional.

Plus in some ways it can be said it's given women the chance to take charge of their sexuality and become more involved in what they want rather than pandering and being subservient to the males.

I'm kinda split down the middle so to speak.

It has alot to answer for but obviously it's supply and demand obviously there's a demand!

Up on them there hills

We both enjoy a little porn, it can be fun and stimulating, help L a lot in her bi curious stage.

Don’t like the BDSM porn, a lot portrays rough fucking as BDSM and over simplifies something that is a tad more complicated.
