Fewer thin swingers? More large ones.

This isn't a dig at anyone... but we seem to have noticed a steep decline in the number of swingers online, or in the clubs, that are thin. By this we mean slim, athletic, toned, or naturally thin.

This is over the past 6 years we've been in the scene.

There also seems to be a growing number of people in the very very large category.

Anyone else noticed this or feel the same?

Op just posted to another thread that their ideal type is size 0-8.

I'm 5ft, 6 stone of skin and bone (seriously look at the pics) and I'm a size 4. My BMI places me at a very unhealthy weight. I'm a child's size 11-13.

A size 0 is a child's size 8. They're unrealistic and upholding dangerous standards.

Mrs here. As a large bbw I receive a lot of abusive messages on fab about my size. Mainly men but have had 2 couples do it. Lady of couple in both was very slender. We had never had previous contact but these people take it upon themselves to be nasty. I don’t message slim ladies abusing them. But I always get abuse for only liking black men. Things like I’m a disgrace to my race etc.

There are lots of parties for hotwives where you’ll only find slender ladies

Fat people are munters? I'm not the most confident person and I'm fat, don't see myself as a minter? See myself as a normal person!

It's OK to have a type, tall, short, slim, muscular, fat... Maybe get to know someone "larger"? Or failing that move to LA where everyone's plastic and more aesthetically pleasing to you?

Variety is the spice of life! Being slim doesn't equal being healthy, being bigger doesnt equal being unhealthy. I think it would be boring if everyone was the same shape and size. I'm not slim anymore after having kids. I'm curvy and then some. I eat well and exercise regularly, but I want to maintain where I am because I love being curvy. When I was slim, a lot of people said I lost too much and I looked ill. I was never really happy slim either. I was constantly worried and berating myself for what I was eating. Some people are just happier being bigger. And if they're happy then that's all that matters.

There are swingers clubs for the uber beautiful and super fit: perhaps that's where the ops should go.

Nothing wrong in wanting to be with like minded people, there's just no need to be rude about those outwith what you're looking for.

Try and stay classy people.

Many women have an unhealthy relationship with food. I have sat in endless lunchtime gatherings with women going on and on about their weight or someone else's weight. It's fucking boring. Many very slim women I know do not eat healthy food or hardly any food at all.

Even BBW nights you find a mix of every body type. It's not like people get turned away.

So if there were nights for the slender of the community you'll still find larger people regardless.

I don't get all the avid gym goers who claim to be BBW obsessed. Surely my fatness would be disgusting to most of them.

I,m ashamed to admit that, when I was a lot younger, I also thought the same.

Now, after several sporting injuries and a sports induced heart condition from skiing, running and cyclying, I realise that I'm also an additional burden on the NHS.

With fitness (and indeed most things), It's the extremes at both ends of the scale (No pun) that may have a negative implication on society

Why would they complain? BBW nights don’t exclude ladies who don’t fit that description. However as the theme is BBW I’m sure the more slender ladies would realise they might not get as much attention as the bigger ladies so therefore wouldn’t choose to go on a BBW night. Surely the same would apply in reverse if there was a slim/athletic ladies night?

What is classed as bbw now though? I was talking to a guy on a dating site once who classed sized 10/12 women as overweight. Well as a curvy size 16 I must be morbidly obese on his standards. I try not to let peoples views bother me anymore. If you don't like my size then move on. Simples

Wow some of these posts the stereotype of wow your BMI is high your unfit and a drain on society.

I'm not here to judge or be judged based on my size or my health. Just because people carry a certain weight doesnt make them unhealthy, we are all free to choose what we do and dont like

On another note there is muscle under my layer of fat

Suppose it's all relative what you class as slim. Also slim doesnt always relate to attraction to me anyway.

Nothing wrong with personal preference as everyone is entitled to it.

I feel slim compared to what I have in the past. I'm around a size 8 waist but 10/12 hips. Still have my days I feel frumpy though.

As someone said, the average size for a woman is 16, and behind a lot of those is an industry where the aim is to lower that size, for good reason. As well as the physical size issue, speaking purely on medically pov, the strain on organs, diabetes etc, there's a mental wellbeing to consider too. This isn't just one for the ladies either is it.

The whole rush, rush of life means many people don't have the disposal income to take a step back and make time to do the things that make a work-life balance a healthy one.

Whilst I'd agree the op is correct about the physical observation, spare a thought for those not celebrating their weight issues and whilst directly not body shaming them, overtly topics like this isn't going to change anything, but will leave some that are struggling with their weight, feeling pretty crap.

Just a thought, but as far as I have witnessed I think guys are far less fussy/picky in regards to the type of woman they will meet/play with on FAB and other specialist sites than they would be in the vanilla world.

It’s a simple case of numbers, fewer options mean many guys will go with whatever they can find.

I haven’t seen much in the way of discrimination in regards to larger women, but maybe I wouldn’t do.

Obviously for the women of this site they can choose to be picky due to the imbalance of males to females.

Strange how people always get preachy about the NHS spending money on peoples weight but never on people drinking alcohol/smoking/taking drugs etc.

The NHS spends more money on people who abuse illicit substances than those who enjoy a mcdonalds every now and then

Strange how people always get preachy about the NHS spending money on peoples weight but never on people drinking alcohol/smoking/taking drugs etc.

The NHS spends more money on people who abuse illicit substances than those who enjoy a mcdonalds every now and then "

Somebody did mention about alcohol/smoking/drugs and one guy even said being too fit is a drain due to his health from being so healthy ....

Fantastic

But I was actually referred to the 2 people I quoted who brought the nhs up in the first place.

Thanks for your input though.

Oh it's the pseudo concern that gets me and the cherry picking. It's okay for them to not work, breed, have free nursery place, free school dinners etc...that comes from the public purse but let's lambast fat people for draining resources.

There's no need for the dig at slim women either. They won't "snap".

Why do we always pit people against each other?

So many things are costing the NHS millions not just those carrying extra weight but they are the easy target these days. If people spent less time going to the docs unnecessarily or sitting in A&E because they’ve got a sore throat that could save so much money - but that’s not the point of this debate. This debate is about shaming people that are overweight. It’s always the way.

The other point here is that slim people are more socially accepted generally and overweight people totally understand why people find them attractive. However it doesn’t work the other way around. Slimmer people rarely understand how a person can be attracted to someone that is overweight, they’re accused of being desperate or any hole’s a goal and the overweight person is accused of punching above their weight (so to speak!), they would never get noticed in the real world etc. All so negative and hurtful. Slim doesn’t make you better and overweight doesn’t make you worse.

Once again fickle fab

Men and women alike all have their own "type"...

I observation made that us fatties are taking over what ever club these ppl attend.... Just makes me laugh.... (no offens to anyone whom deems the word fat to be offensive I just don't)

Female empowerment and male empowerment too for that matter...

Why can't we accept every single person is different and enjoys different things... And finds diffrent things attractive in sexual partners..

Its not fat ppl Against thin ppl we are just ppl....

Also first every post in a forum....

Oh Come on is that fair. It is a fact it is costing the NHS Billions, you cannot escape it it is a fact.

But as people say lots of other things cost the NHS money too.

Do we really believe McDonald Fans are a burden ? You dont need to be a larger person or a smaller person to like a Big Mac.

The OP asked a question, and as usual the hanging a flogging brigade all came out.

If people agree great, if they dont agree, great too.

But let's not get into their ribs for asking a question or no point of a forum.

What if you consider body positivity are bringing larger people to fab?

Accepting their bodies and not being ashamed of them?

Then people are here fat shaming??

Blaming larger people saying they eat too much?

Does it not occur to people some have health conditions causing weight gain or weight loss?

Arguing over the fact people look different just shows what shallow people you are. Don't like slender people don't look dont message, don't like larger people then don't look and don't message. It's just that simple putting people down for the way they look isn't acceptable in any form. It's bullying tactics and the only persons who should be shamed are the ones doing the shaming.

If people accept that everyone's bodies are different and ignore society telling people they have to look a certain way we would all be happier.

Worry about your own bodies what another person looks like has sweet fa to do with anyone else.

We have spoken about clubs but the thought of going on our own is daunting, sassy is described on here as curvy but SHE will call it fat..... let me say she is amazingly attractive and gets told it all the time, so what is the definition of curvy? i think words like that are subjective and each and everyones taste vary. Bigger ladies can be extremely attractive facially but some people overlook that and judge only on body size. This is coming from a guy who has been married to someone size 6-8, 5”1 and before that 4”11 and size 10, when i met sassy it was a huge change for me but i wouldn't change her for the world, she is stunningly beautiful and its a shame that when we chat to people we feel its necessary to point out that shes curvy and no skinny minny.

People have types of course, and judging by my past even i questioned what my type even was, but i fell in love with the woman underneath her curves.

So whats curvy? Everyone will have they're opinion some would say sassy is bigger than curvy, but for me i think bigger ladies can definitely be stunningly beautiful too.

Lastly we have had guys message and say (when we have replied thanks but no thanks) don't wanna fuck a fat bird anyway!!!

It hurt sassy at first but let me tell you I WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT HER

There also seems to be a growing number of people in the very very large category.

People are doing private parties now or events outside of the clubs. When I first started I attended a lot of those sorts of parties but that's not me anymore. I found myself constantly trying to battle my weight and insecurity comparing myself to the other women. I just do me now

Think its insecurities about size that is stopping us going to clubs tbh, maybe when we find a couple we connect with they could show us the way but for now we are holding back (also hear a lot about cliques and don't wanna be that couple that walk in as newbies and the club goes quiet and like you've walked into the middle of a conversation) bit like walking into the “slaughtered lamb” in American werewolf in london.

We have been going to clubs on and off for about 15 years and always found it to be a mix of people that attend, just as it is anywhere you go in normal every day to day life. At the end of the day not everybody is for everybody that’s why we are all different.

To be fair there will probably be an increase in body size for men and women over the coming years as the way things are going we won’t be doing anything but sitting on our butts pressing buttons...in more ways than one.

I've been to loads of clubs and never felt judged...mainly cos I'm too busy fucking lol

To be fair to the OP, they haven't been derogatory about people being big, just saying they've noticed more of them and hopefully (on my part) that is because more larger people are having the confidence to get out to clubs and be naked around other people. Good on them!

I do prefer a slimmer woman as a long term partner, because I like to look after myself and exercise, so look for the same in a woman.

But sorry op, there are some beautiful women out there of all shapes and sizes.

Being a bit on the larger side doesn't mean you don't take care of yourself. I go to the gym, I play wheelchair basketball, I push 5k once or twice a week by wheelchair. My upper body is, frankly, stacked. But I can't easily exercise my lower body. There are plenty of slim people who do zero exercise and are actually pretty unhealthy underneath the slim exterior. I'm a dress size 16, but all my blood tests, blood pressure etc are bob on and zero cause for concern.

This thread is going nowhere lol. So much rubbish coming from people getting offended, talking fake facts about health and taking the OP as an insult which it clearly was not. Perfect example of people online not even reading and just lashing out.

Not offended but just pointing out.....I go to the gym at least 5 times a week....I can squat 125kg and deadlift 105kg.....I have run a marathon. Big people do exercise as well.

I've heard a lot of people on Fab say that there are more large swingers than slimmer ones.

I havent really noticed this - I feel like theres a mixture of all shapes and sizes - just as it should be.

"This isn't a dig at anyone... but we seem to have noticed a steep decline in the number of swingers online, or in the clubs, that are thin. By this we mean slim, athletic, toned, or naturally thin.

This is over the past 6 years we've been in the scene.

There also seems to be a growing number of people in the very very large category.

Anyone else noticed this or feel the same?"

You need larger portions so you can share with more people!

On a serious note, we probably haven’t been around long enough to notice any change.

But even if we had been around for longer, not sure it would matter too much. A bigger/smaller body type might make you more/less physically attractive, but attraction is multi faceted and most of the other facets are hugely more important to us than what dress size someone does/doesn’t wear.

Some very interesting replies, thankyou all

Particularly those saying it's shallow to judge on weight. I wonder if they would say the same about height, skin colour, gender? Probably not.

Also an interesting comment about our male halfs preference for size 0 - 8 being wrong. Well, there's plenty of natural women of that size. Nice job invalidating them, and our preference of them

"It may be more socially acceptable to be bigger these days but it definitely an issue with Society not just the swinging scene there will be a price to pay for not looking after your health be it smoking drugs or lack of exercise..

I agree and it is costing the Health service billions which could be better spent.

Strange how people always get preachy about the NHS spending money on peoples weight but never on people drinking alcohol/smoking/taking drugs etc.

The NHS spends more money on people who abuse illicit substances than those who enjoy a mcdonalds every now and then "

Tbf smokers and boozers ARE preached at, but they would normally say "Well the huge taxes we pay on fags and booze pay for that." Heavy drug users have no such excuse though ha!

And it's true that fatty unhealthy food is often cheaper than healthy food to buy. This however would also explain why some are simply priced out of eating a balanced diet.

Also I think a poster referred to more gym fit single guys in the scene? I think it's simply down to the fact that body imagery being pressed upon men is akin to a woman's these days whereas in the past it was mainly women who felt they were body shamed this way. Men are by their very nature competitive with each other and this of course would extend to perceived body ideals, especially when single.

There will probably be more big couples in the scene as they are then often ruled out of the dating game and a lot become more sedentary in their interests, eg watching TV curled up together, rather than hitting a dancefloor for 4 or 5 hours like they both probably did more when they were single?

My ex did a study / wrote an article on eating healthily for £1 a day.

It's possible. But doesn't suit people who are lazy with food preparation

I work away yet still manage to eat fairly healthily, eating the right nutrients at the right time of the day, cooking meals that taste delicious in 15-20 mins tops with nothing more than a George Foreman grill, a camping stove, a kettle and a mug.

Though bearing in mind the difference that I don't have anywhere to freeze food when away, I can understand a lot of people bulk buying food that is nutritionally shit in bulk as it would probably work out cheaper on the whole.

People like who they like at the end of the day, some like size 8 some like size 18 (example, understand other sizes are available and differ from store to store) but there’s nothing wrong with only wanting to have sex with those your attracted to, where’s the fun if there’s no attraction? yes I know some say they don’t need attraction but don’t understand that and it’s not for us we need attraction all round, facially, physically and personality, I don’t see this as shallow either and don’t apologise to those that do, you wouldn’t eat something you don’t like so why have someone in your mouth you don’t like, sex is the most intimate you can get so go with who and what you enjoy. At the end of the day we are all different in what we like so no need to get upset if your not someone’s cup of tea as you may not want them drinking from your cup anyway lol

Some truly shocking comments on here, including sarcastic ones. Sometimes thoughts are best kept in the head. Thankfully there are many lovely people on Fab and in the World we live. You can choose who you play with, but there's no reason to be openly rude about fellow swingers. Hence certain clubs we don't go to.
