"I suppose the issue would be that the categories are very subjective." This exactly. Isn't that why we have pics. One persons bbw (which I use to describe myself) is another persons slim x

"I suppose the issue would be that the categories are very subjective." That’s what I was trying to say but couldn’t sum it up properly. Thank you!

"I suppose the issue would be that the categories are very subjective." This is very true, though we already put ourselves in the categories when we sign up. We can't have moderators exactly going around the site judging body types. Imagine what that would do to a persons self esteem.

" I’m certainly not suggesting moderators “vet” our profiles to check we are the body type we advertise. My point here is that we already categorise ourselves within our profiles- we select what body type we are, based on our own opinion. So surely having a section within the search function to pinpoint exactly what you are looking for wouldn’t be a huge issue?

"What are everyone’s thoughts on being able to search for people on here by body type? At present you can search for someone based on their age and sex but not body type. If you are looking to meet someone with a particular body type- curvy or athletic, it would be great to filter out those that would not be of interest to you. What’s everyone’s thoughts?" people have different perceptions of athletic and curvy how would that work

" Technically it probably wouldnt be a huge issue for a website to offer more filters. Just look at clothes shopping- you select size, colour, garment type, price etc. But would it be beneficial when the search term isn't as black and white? I imagine many would start with a tight set of search criteria and then loosen them as the potential options would be greater. Besides - I don't for one second think that people don't make judgements on whether to make contact primarily on pictures rather than words in a profile. A

"People see body types different to what other people may do, like i think im curvy but some might think im fat?? " Exactly this. Some think I’m ‘curvy’, some say skinny, some say athletic.. So basically OP, no

"Agree with most on here, it’s hard to define body shapes, if I box for a few weeks I’m a skinny, if I leave it I’m just me. We could be classing ourselves differently every other week. In the eye of the beholder " Do you currently change your description every other week on here? You currently declare your body type- nothing here would change, simply you would/ wouldn’t appear on some searches. At present you are listed as curvy, if someone was looking for athletic you simply wouldn’t appear. If they were looking for a curvy then you would. All that would change is the search selection, making for a more defined search and easier for people to find exactly what they are looking for. (Albeit based purely on physical attributes) People that are more open would simply select more than 1 body type in their search

"I could see where you're coming from with searches, i wouldn't meet anyone that was ample but i met a guy and didnt think he was ample but his profile said he was " But what is ample? Is it about clothing size? Is it BHM big handsome man? Is it heavily muscular i.e. buff? Dad bod? Athletic to me would be someone averagely built not overly muscled, have you ever seen Olympians look like the Hulk or bodybuilders?

This is very true, thats why its hard to categorise as everyone sees it very differently

"Body fascism raises it's ugly head once again. " Not the case at all, simply an extra option when searching. Would help people find exactly what they are looking for. Maybe make it an option for site supporters only- I’m sure some would appreciate this feature and may encourage more to become site supporters. This would mean more revenue for fab, which would help them to further improve the site and we would benefit from these improvements. Win-win for everyone
