When someone puts a status up like

“ my block button is in overdrive today “

What does that tell you about the person ?

We dont announce it but if a person is not our type we often block. It saves getting multiple messages from people we will never meet.

because they've been getting idiotic messages from profiles that don't fall in to their criteria? I wouldn't announce it myself but my block list is massive!

Tells you that they are getting bombarded by idiot blokes who can’t read. That’s usually the way

Tells you more about the people they are blocking to be honest.

I generally don’t block if I’m not interested but then they send gross messages like ‘ok I’ll just wank over your pics instead’ so I block

I'm not a blocker but have always thought that statuses like that from anyone are kind of drama queenish

It tells you that if only you could see the messages they'd been getting, you'd be blocking them too

I block very few. Bn hwre 3years and have only blocked 20 who crossed the line with vile messages. Usually i just report and they get removed so hopefully that is a lesson learnt

my block button is my most used feature of fab ...but i dont advertise it ... i never used to block people but now every single abusive message or abusive persons get blocked no second chances same for people i dont want to meet and people i think i know (outside the lifestyle) i also use it for those who put abusive status up or guys who slag women of in general and it works being nice to those who are not nice does not work ..block does ...if only more people used it then there would be less moaning about messages

They've probably been active on the forums or have uploaded a picture, and are now being inundated with stupid messages so they're blocking a lot of people...

I hate the block button, as it feels so negative. It just has to come into use as the features of the site are so poor. I'd like an "ignore" feature, just stop these profiles showing up in searches etc...

In terms of what is might say about a profile... that they haven't got the brains to stop single guys messaging them. That is such an easy one to change but instead people just moan about it instead. fools.

Use it very little. Usually when someone is abusive, vile or persistent and won't take a no.

Oddly used it the first time the other day for someone asking S what he thought about messeges I had sent telling them I loved them I didn't and the fact he reads messeges made him laugh... Some absolute oddballs on here at times

How rude!

I block people that i have had some communication with and will never meet, easy - prevents them messaging again by mistake - i'd rather block than ignore, that's just rude!

I don't want to filter out single guys, I want to meet some! Blocking is an option i like, if you don't then don't use it!

It feels shitty to be on the other end of a block. I try and have empathy for others. Try it some time?

It tells me that they are saying they've blocked a lot of people that day. It doesn't tell me anything about them, or anyone else. It doesn't even tell me that they've actually done it.

blimey, that's a militantly defensive take on it.

Really? I'm surprised it seems that way. I have no idea who the OP is talking about, so have no need to defend them. And I certainly did not feel militant when I wrote it.

I simply think you can rarely tell anything about someone from a status. Didn't realise that would be a weird position to take.

That they've been inundated with the usual self entitled twats. Bloody wonderful and useful tool, the capability to block someone.

Not defensive. That’s actually the most accurate answer as it based on the evidence we have

There’s a difference between blocking people for being dick heads and feeling the need to tell everyone you’re doing it # dramatic attention seeking
