It never really went away.

There's plenty of ladies who like having pubic hair.

Only removed my bush once, never again... A light trim is sufficient for me.

Watching the programme with interest though.

Watching the programme, I was surprised how young women have felt compelled to shave as the bush is "dirty".

I recall shaving hair that escaped outside knickers, as a teen, cos I didn't like the look. And just before I had my first child, I had my first trim. I wasn't under any pressure. I feel sad if women feel pressured.

It was an interesting look at how society dictates what is acceptable.

I’m not sure what business it is if society what someone does with their fanny but there you go.

No....and this was the most awful, boring and pointless programme I've seen. What next - a programme about Bring Back The Beard.

It shows how social norms change.

Hark back to the quote re Darwin saying women should have evolved as hairless

I would hope that people's povs are matched by their own grooming or lack of. I will at least trim and tidy before a meet as I wouldn't want to treat the guy to a flossing while he is munching on me .

And this is why along with my very sensitive skin that I don't take it all off, my partner prefers some hair!

It helps to fend off bacteria and unwanted pathogens from entering the vaginal area. This can help prevent you from getting yeast infections, vaginitis, and UTIs."

In that case, I’m hiding in the wifes bush until this Coronavirus has passed.

I thought it was very sad that these young women had felt they HAD to remove their pubic hair due to societal pressure... It's natural and it's there for a reason as has been mentioned.

If women decide to remove it that is their choice but if they decide not to then they shouldn't be made to feel dirty or weird.

I'll get off my soap box now

Just watched it, bit of a lacking program really. Confusing that they only grew it out for 6 weeks as that's not enough time to grow a bush!

I would say the majority of women on here seem to go hairless (maybe they're just more vocal?) plus a sizeable amount of men. On here it's become the norm to be hairless. In the real world, most people I know think it looks a bit creepy to be shaved, thinking it makes a person's genitals look childlike. Then to hear these girls say they feel dirty for having public hair just makes me sad. I hope it's just as much as a fad as scousebrows, or topknots on men.

There and to the left a bit

It was an interesting watch, and some of the points made in this thread about societal pressure are indeed valid - I do think the programme was somewhat lacking and possibly picked the wrong people to focus on though, in that they were all young Instagram type "influencers" (who by definition contribute to societal pressures) rather than a random cross-section of society.

Would have been more interesting to have a range of age groups and backgrounds amongst those they talked to - appreciate that younger women are the most likely to be influenced by societal expectations but hearing from both men and women of all ages and both those who have hair and those who don't would have made it more interesting.

The end result was all a little light and fluffy without really getting into some of the facts behind the subject matter.

I think one of the folk on the show has summed it up perfectly "when you do something for someone else's comfort, you lose a little bit of yourself because it wasn't for you"
