This is not a meant to be a rant as I think it’s just fact and down to shear numbers. But you see someone online you are interested in and by the time you have spent 20+ minutes crafting a hopefully interesting and engaging message, they have logged off! Only for it to disappear way down the list of all the subsequent messages they receive before they log on again! It remains unread even with a catchy headline! I guess it’s all about timing when there is so much competition out there. It’s just a little frustrating when you are encouraged all the time to avoid “one liners”! What are others experiences here?

The first thing that stood out on this for me was.... Your user name.. Jimmycuk.

I presume its meant to be Jimmy c UK but it looks like cuk as in cuckold maybe the ladies see that think "I don't want a cuck" and ignore. Just my 2p worth

Lot of people look at profiles before reading a message. The fact that you're in a relationship is not gonna be in your favour. If profile isn't what they're looking for, no point in reading a message.

If women already have xyz messages I don't think they read messages which come to their inbox when they are online straight away. At least I wouldn't, so it doesn't really matter when you send it

So true. I do this. If the profile doesn’t tick any boxes at least, then I just delete x

Most women and couples will look at your profile before opening your email. If your profile is shit your email is not getting opened.

Also, I don't prioritise my messages, I head to the forums first. So just because someone is online, it doesn't mean they are reading private messages

In my experience hardly anyone has looked at my profile following receipt of a then unread message, but then people don’t have time to look at everyone’s profile. If they do then I’m sure my relationship status will put a lot off, but I am at least up front about it and I have found there are a good few who are understanding and non judgemental.

Thanks for your thoughts

Get over it. This online world is easy to hide or avoid people.

Not your fault. Focus on what you can control
