Socials: Do you publish your guest list?

I've been running socials and parties now for many years, both small ones at home and large organised ones at various locations and I still can't decide if posting up the guest list is a good or bad idea. At the moment, I don't.

What do you do?

What would you prefer?

I run kink events elsewhere but no, I dont create an event or publish the guest list.

People are free to state they are attending within a post, set to friends only (only the guests are friends)

That's what I usually go for although more public, I always have a thread running if anybody wants to divulge.

the gym and random places

I used to but then found that guests were being harassed for info or constantly asked to meet outside of ot before.

I dont publish lists anymore doesn't do the event any harm

I used to publish mine. Mainly so others knew who was attending (in case of awkward situations if you get my drift)

But it was hard work constantly updating it for drop outs and new additions. Fab socials are so fluid on nature it becomes a full time job near enough.

If was to re start the social I probably wouldnt do it that way now xx

Northampton Somewhere

I prefer to see a guest list just to see if anyone going is on my block list, but I can understand why an organiser wouldn't want to.

and

I don't as there is many single ladies The event has an overall cap, is not for profit and each person pays the same.

Hull

I co host a successful social or 2 here in Hull see Hullsocial@Robbies and a new Swingles social and although I name the venue I dont have a guest list it's free to all no invite nd I've never had a problem with to many single guys before you ask, but prefer to not have a guest list for discretion. It works well x

Good question this, we would always like a peak at a guest list before we go just to get a feel of the dynamic of who’s going to be there, but at the same time we wouldn’t want to appear on a public guest list.

A club we do enjoy the mystery of who’s going to be there, but with a private event we have to trust the organiser to go without knowing who else is going.

As vain as it may sound, when we were new and naive we had an invite and a couple using L almost as bait to get people to their house party that was made up of individuals almost twice our age and from a very different demographic. We’re sure they had fun, but we like to go to events targeted at us and who we like to play with.

In answer. For our first time to somebody’s event we’d just like to know a general, there will be 15 couples, aged between 25 and 56, and 6 single girls and guys.

Sorry misread, for a social. As long as we know it’s not just us turning up then don’t care about guestlist

I don't publish the guest list but everyone that wants to get on the list has to get on the forum thread, so everyone can see who might be coming

I like this number idea. Much more discreet.

I think publishing a guest list takes the choice away from the attendees. Best to not in my opinion

nope.... starts getting all "political"... i stopped organising socials at the point where where people started saying "i'm not going if they are" and were putting pressure on to pull names....
