Just wondering whether it’s a sustainable thing, ultimately

Yeah it can, worked for me before. Depends on the people involved.

Can do..

As long as there is mutual respect and honesty without the head games

I've heard stories of it working, stories of one having their heart broken, stories of one falling for the other but keeping quiet in case it spoiled thing and stories of it going horribly wrong.

So, like every partnership or relationship when it works it's great and when it doesn't it's not.

.

Yes they can work and brilliantly - open communication and truly listening to what the other is saying really helps. Also, as daft as it sounds, not having an ideal, a sort of this is how it should go. Enjoy it for what it is and the time you spend together. Might it come to an end one day? Sure. Being good to each other means you can look back on it fondly.

I have had a few of these relationships before and now also with Charlie. It is not for everyone. Not only for the two people involved but for the perceived pressure put onto the couple by family, friends, society. The amount of questions we get asked is untrue. It is as though some are attempting to fit us into their mould of what a couple should look like.

Our relationship works as we spoke and set out what we wanted and set boundaries early on. When each of us feel as if we need to talk about these when can do without risking hurting the others feelings, because we genuinely are friends. It makes the sex pretty good also

It does work for a period of time and that varies depending on what each individual’s aspirations are for the relationship
