But when you message your friends, the messages will disappear when you leave so they won't get them unless they are all online before you leave.

I wouldn't have a leaving thread because nobody would give a shit if I left, but I'm cool with it if people want to have one themselves, no harm in it.

The vast majority of forum posts are attention seeking in one way or another.

If a regular leaves why shouldn't they post a thread? And if someone is throwing a tantrum and post that they are leaving and dont follow through does it really matter?

I have no plans to leave as yet however when the time is right for me to leave I will send a message to all my friends on Fabs that I am leaving say in 4 weeks and asking them if they want to stay in touch another way phone , email.I don’t see me starting a thread to say good bye.

I'm taking a sabbatical not leaving so I have not started a thread about it, but will mention it on other threads if it's relevant to the discussion.

I don't know how long I'll be gone but it will be a minimum of three months.

I won't start a thread though, I don't think that many on here will care too much if one more Tgirl disappears for awhile

If someone starts a leaving thread and goes UNLOS straightaway then I don't think it's attention seeking. If they start a thread and are still there hours later then it is, and it's pathetic.

Yes it's a bit like a closing down sale at a shop so you have a look but the shop isn't actually closing down but maybe having a re-furb. When you have a look inside it's usually stuff most people don't want anyway, hence the sale
