Just interested in peopkes opinions on the whole send a message it gets read then deleted a few days later

Has it happened to you ? Is there a reason for it ?

Its a fun topic this to help others understand fabs better .

If I read and don't reply it usually means I'm not interested.

I tend not to delete individual messages as I'm a bit admin lazy on here.

Most of the time, I don't reply because often it ends up becoming some conversation where they try to change my mind at best , or insult me at worst.

If someone then keeps messaging I'll eventually get fed up and block them. So in some ways if helps act as a bit of a monitoring system .

Sometimes people leave messages a while before deleting, as if you delete straight away there's a higher chance of a pissy huffy follow up message.

We don’t reply to a message until both of us have read it. We are not always on here together obviously, so it could be left for a bit.

It then be a “no” so it gets deleted.

That doesn’t mean that if a message is read and not deleted, it is a possible, it may be just so we both see how lazy most guys are

I sometimes read a message then mark it as unread so I can come back to it later, I’m not sure if the sender then sees it as read or unread. But I usually then reply to those messages even if it takes a few days. The ones I delete without replying are the ones that clearly haven’t read my profile and have just sent a dick pic or a “you free today?” type of message.

I reply to every message even if it's a no thanks, the only time I don't reply after are the copy & paste repeat messages a week after I've said 'no thanks' or the messages asking me to change my mind. Haven't blocked anyone yet.

I delete all messages after I've replied too if I'm not interested.

If the message is very rude I'll leave it unread & delete with no reply.

Everyone runs their profile & message replies how they like & I think the best way is to send a message & delete it so you are pleasantly surprised if you receive a message back

I reply to virtually all my messages but if I read and don't reply straight away just means I haven't had the time, especially if I have a few to rely to at a time ... just means different things to different people but if you delete all your send messages then you'll only have to concentrate on your inbox!

The thing is your message can be brilliant, it can be tailored to the person's likes and profile, but if you're not what the person is looking for, it doesn't change that fact.

I see a lot of people get frustrated with no replies or instant deleting of their apparently wonderful message. However it's pointless to feel that way . Just move on

I think fab has changed alot in the 6 years ive been on off here , its lost its charm with the timewasters increasing, black profiles, the attitude of alot of people here is quite nasty. And i think there are quite a few bot profiles too

Means we don't bother trying with them in the future but remember why.

We always try to reply to the people who put a bit of effort into their message even if it's a no, it's the follow up messages trying to convince us why we should meet that generally leads to a block.

Either way no response generally means no bueno, regardless of how good your message is or how much time you spent on it.

And my god the amount of awful dick pics, why do guys think this is a turn on for women seriously???

I’ve been to work for 7 hours and my inbox was 0 when i left, it’s now on 128 unread. 99.9% of which will be a waste of time.

I know there’s filters... but they don’t always account for what we’re here for.

I would say take a no response as a polite no thank you the first time. Anything after that it means fuck off and leave me alone.

People argue and get abusive when they're rejected so not replying is the best way to stop that.

This is us all over. Both work mainly separate hours so we arent going to reply without consulting unless it's just general q and a stuff (what are you looking for etc).

If you do reply with a no thanks 6/10 plus people pester and ask why or try to convince you to meet. The sad fact its the only message in their inbox and you end up blocking so best thnig to do is just delete you get far less abuse doing that.

Some days we get so many male messages that we simply can not answer all. We delete inmediately if

1. No face and body pic

2. Bi-curuous or bi-sexual guy

3. Dont fancy

4. Too young or too old

5. Not verified

Someone told me last week that when you message someone and they don’t reply, if you message them again you get a warning that they haven’t replied. If they reply saying they’re not interested, you don’t get that warning again. That completely changed my outlook because that means that the people who bombard me with multiple messages know exactly what they’re doing. I now don’t reply at all if I’m not interested, and if they message again and nothing has changed, I’ll block.

That's an interesting point, I must admit that if someone reads and deletes my message I make a "private note" so I dont message again. But if they open and dont reply I take the view that they weren't classing me as a definite no, so I may send another message a day or 2 later if they are online.

I'd hate to think I was hassling anyone though.

I know some guys complain that they send a message and get blocked, but I view that as a reasonable way to respond to someone who you have no interest in. I guess if theres no response then it could be misconstrued
