Dogging risks (police?)

So I finally got around to trying out dogging, and I'm finding it rather addictive. I was first invited to a local site by someone on here who's been before. I've been twice with him, before plucking up the courage to go on my own. I must say, I got a lot more attention when I went alone.

The darkness, the cool air, the random sex with random strangers, I'm loving. The waiting around while nothing's going on, and worrying that the police might show up, not so much.

There are articles in the local press about this site, and the 'disgusting' things that are going on there 24/7. Also statements from the police that that they're clamping down on it with both uniformed and plain clothes officers. But this was all a few years ago, and the activity still seems to be going on. Sex in public isn't actually illegal until you manage to upset an innocent bystander (though that 'innocent bystander' can be the police officer patrolling the area, looking for sexual activity.) The way I see it, people attending a local beauty spot after dark aren't there for the beauty. It makes no sense to enforce this at night, but that doesn't mean they won't.

One person I met there said they once got cautioned for masturbating (they were actually having a pee, but still ended up being 'done' for wanking.) I'm just wondering if anyone else with experience has had any police trouble doing this, or whether they turn more of a blind eye these days, accepting that people who visit these places after dark are probably all looking for the same thing anyway?

What I'm not looking for is negativity from people who've never tried it. No, it isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's something I'm going to do from time to time, especially when I've prepared for meets that have let me down. But if there's more than the slimmest chance that I might end up with a criminal record, I may give it a miss.

We once parked up. We where both sat in the front seats normally. C had no nickers on and I was teasing her with a dildo. A police car then pulled along side us and wound down their window to chat, asking why we where here ect. We played incicent and said we where lost and looking up where to go. They said to us “ok, just be carful people often come here with other plans in mind and said we should move on.

Having sex outdoors isn't illegal but if it is seen by someone and causes them offence, or could even be deemed likely to have been seen and cause offence, then you could be charged.

There are a number of offences you could be charged with if caught dogging - including indecent exposure and gross indecency, and it could end up with your name being added to the sex offenders register.

The charge would come under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 - or for outraging public decency - which is a common law offence - not a sexual one

I always thought 'indecent exposure' was rendered obsolete by the SOA 2013. (I've been a naturist since 2003, and the subject comes up a lot, there.) Also, isn't 'gross indecency' an archaic term for sexual acts between two males, back when homosexuality was illegal?

The only seemingly applicable parts of the SOA involve sexual acts performed deliberately in front of children. I don't see how you can end up on the sex offender's register through dogging, unless you are aware that children are watching you do it.

Don't know hun, it's just advice that I looked up on a website. Just be careful hun, I know lots of people that go dogging, it's not just the legal aspect to consider but your own personal safety too. I totally understand the buzz but it's not something I'd do.

Thanks. And I can see you're just trying to be helpful. I think we know the legal position is that it can get you into trouble. Certainly if you end up doing the wrong thing in front of a police officer. I'm more interested in whether anyone's actually got any more than a telling off from the police for their involvement in dogging. Anything on your permanent record (including a caution) could be problematic, in my line of work. So far on this thread, it seems everyone has got away without anything being registered against their name.

I'd like to think that, trying to be reasonably discreet and not setting out to be seen by anyone who isn't there for the same reasons, we'd get left alone. Aside from the idiots who leave used condoms behind (I watched someone throw one on the floor the second time I was there) I don't really see an incompatibility between people going in the daytime to enjoy the scenery, and people going after dark to bang each other senseless.

Dogging. I used to dress up (unlike you, only under cover of darkness) and visit local sites. Part of the thrill was just being seen by men, and seeing if they were interested- I just loved having the odd compliment etc. I also played a number of times, which brought on the "Shit if I get caught" thoughts, but was still fun. On Police... One night, I was out, and everything was dead, and I was gutted that no-one was going to see me out. Then a car pulled in, with 2 man in. They waited, I waited, and eventually I clip clopped over to say hello. I nearly shat myself when the nearest one showed me his warrant card! They were out looking around the sites. I go to dogging sites quite a bit for the same reasons as you.

The one I go to is very popular and well known to most local people. It is close to to big towns and has a wonderful view (apparently, I've never looked).

The only time I've seen a police presence us when there was a road accident at the entrance, both police and ambulance service were there and people were still driving in and out and I was being sagged in the back of a van. Only last week I was knelt across the front seats of a car giving a guy a blow job. To encourage guys to come over he put the interior light on.
