Personally if i see dirt and mess it reflects on for me on their personal hygiene. Whether or not that is a true reflection but just naturally it just makes me think that way. Plus i think about how my pics look and take time to composite ones that look nice. Quick pics with poor backgrounds suggests lack of thought.

Just awful.

Along similar lines, family photos in background which would be recognisable to anyone who knew the family. And it's utterly beyond my comprehension how some people think it's appropriate to take adult photos of themselves amongst kids' toys, or worse, in what's obviously a child's bedroom.

I dont get why people do this.

Something I learned in photography is the point of the subject is for the viewer to look at the subject and nothing more. All the crap in the background just makes the eye wander elsewhere..

...oh and the subject is a lazy sod as well

I'm always doing this, looking at the surroundings around them. It's not so much even that the place is a tip but the fact that they haven't even got the common sense to realise that it's gonna come out that way in the pics. Saw one once of some guys cock pic with an overflowing kitchen bin right next to it. What possesses people to post pics like that?

I find the background more revealing than the subject quite often.

One had pictures of kids. Another had neo-Nazi stuff.

And then you are left asking yourself if it was deliberate or just poor judgement.

Really? I don't have much money so most of my furniture is either second hand or basic Ikea. I live in a rented flat so all the walls are magnolia. I try my best to brighten the place us with nice bedding and cushions and things but it's pretty basic. I don't see that's much of a reflection on me. I have more control over my personal appearance than the appearance of my home.

Absolutely agree! I don't think on this site anyway, a person should be judged on decor.

But sticking with the original question by OP, it does bear a reflection if there's stacks of washing, a bombsite of a room or just general neglect apparent in the photo. I makes me question their standard of hygiene.

You however Lacey, immaculate!

"I look at the decor as well, and its quality, as that can be quite revealing about a person too

Oh, yeah I mean who wants to sleep with someone with bad decor taste.

Poor quality doors and mismatched wallpaper. I'd never be able to get it up. "

Again Mickey it comes down to preferences and desires we may not understand yet must accept.

For many the setting is just as important as the people they're meeting.

I'm just a working class slave to the grind kinda lass, and that's not the type of meet some people want. I can offer many things but luxurious surroundings isn't one of them, and that's ok. It doesn't make me any less of a decent human, it simply makes me not the meet they're looking for.

Worst thingni found was a couple who took close up pics and when i got to their house they were clearly hoarders

Was a thin path from the libingroom up to the bedroom and the bed surrounded by things in boxes and piles of clothing etc

Looked clean what i could see but sooms on the way to their bedroom were clearly blocked and not accessed in years

How is that. If someone has just moved home, then the decor isnt theirs. As long as a home is clean then thats all you need.

"I look at the decor as well, and its quality, as that can be quite revealing about a person too

Same here, my money goes on keeping this crappy roof over my head rather than making it beautiful for the person I pay rent to.

P

I'd honestly so love one day to have somewhere I can really make my own and have the money to do so but for now I make the most of what I have "

To be honest if you are looking and judging people from what is in the background of their photos whether it is the lifestyle or decor. Then you are not finding the person photos tantalising or alluring so you are missing the entire point of the photos.

Yeah the state of some houses are ridiculous.

I once met a really nice couple in a pub near their house in a very nice area. She was stunning. He was easy going. Both well dressed, smelling good, etc etc

Over the moon when they said “lets go back to ours”. I couldn’t finish my pint quick enough.

We should have gone to mine and id have fucked her all over.

Instead, we did indeed go back to theirs and it was like The Dingles house. Dog n all

That's really fucking rude dude. It took me a long time to get stair carpets down.

I don't have carpet in the lounge or the bedroom, but I do vacuum and mop. My floor is probably cleaner than yours.

People wonder why others get a complex about being unworthy, about not being good enough or failing at life. Fuck, I work my arse off to pay my bills.

Would I like to be able to splurge on carpets? Of course, but don't go making people feel bad for stuff they can't afford. That's shitty.

They are like a tattoo and could be used to identify you. The landlord might be on here. My advice.. I don't live in a "flat", I live in a house that I own. Nasty man. And I wouldn't want you to visit.

I hope you live in a detached house or that's very inconsiderate to your neighbours.
