Orgasm Synesthesia

When you see colours and/or sounds at the point of orgasm. Some also describe full-on visions, a feeling of total clarity and calm, and connecting with their third eye.

Has anyone else experienced this? I don't have synesthesia in any other aspect of my life, but depending on the intensity of the orgasm I've been known to lose my sight in exchange for bursts of colour, ranging from electric blue to forest green.

I'd be fascinated to hear if anyone else has experienced this or a variation of it!

Is that... Not.. Meant to happen?

I get a flash of colours or lose vision for a second and it comes back slowly. Same with hearing loss or a sound like rushing wind.

I thought that was normal

Excellent.

I'm a synaesthete in other respects but connected with words, music and smells.

I find it fascinating - do you hear sound when you read a word?

I practice tantric sex and whilst I have never experienced this a good female friend of mine has experienced this during our sessions. It has scared me at times

First time it happened it looked liked she was losing consciousness following the orgasm but now I know what’s happening

No I experience a colour, sometimes a smell and sometimes a sensation (the only way I can describe it) in my mouth either when I hear a word of read it.

Smells can be colours and music occasionally can be patterns

Town sees purple at various times of pleasure.

It seems more common than we think

I wish I did

That’s a fascinating variation of synesthesia, certainly a great way to intensify an orgasm. Have a friend who is a synethete, but his manifestation is just with numbers, no where near as much fun!

My friends is often combined with her whole body shaking as she orgasms. I was scared first of all but now I take it as a complement as it only happens when she’s with me

Amazing. The human brain is pretty darn extraordinary!

Do you like it, or does it annoy you?

It doesn't annoy me because it's always been that way, I thought everyone was like it . I'm not really any more aware of it than anyone is of talking or reading.

The human brain is incredible, I agree.

I experience this often.

Didn't realise it was a thing with a name. Thought it was just an orgasm

I was the same until a friend was talking about it. It's interesting that there are a fair number of people who have it in some form!
