When I was vanilla I would have agreed with your first sentence. However having been on the kink scene, I would say that your first sentence is completely wrong. Within the boundaries of genuine consent and the law, you treat a woman the way she wants to be treated.

Secondly I would say the number of threads on bdsm on this site, the increased numbers at peer events and LAM, BDSM may have been limited but genuine interest and participation is growing. Thirdly spanking is bdsm but you find that many people find it acceptable. The mantra on the scene within the above mentioned exceptions is " your kink is not my kink but I respect your right to do it" and not "because it is not my kink you have no right to do it"

I can understand where you are coming from, however in view of the recent cases and convictions where bdsm or rough sex has been used as a defence those into bdsm should be very clear.

BDSM is never an excuse unless it can be clearly and publicly shown that the victim consented to the assailant to do those acts. The assailant saying so is no excuse.

Serious mental and physical harm can be caused by the practice of BDSM, that us why serious people take the time to learn safety. I am into edge play but I have researched and attended workshops and had one to one tutorials to do things as safely possible.

Research shows that severe trauma to the breasts can cause serious damage. That is why as much as I love breasts and rope I don't do breast bondage. I have topped women and flogged breasts and have slapped breasts but only lightly and more sensually than sadistically because of this.

My point is BDSM can harm people e.g. rope can cause a lot of serious conditions. But serious people do it as safely as possible because it is an act of trust and respect.

There are plenty of unbalanced people, male and female, who use bdsm as an excuse, don't give them air by saying it is where you draw the line.

The UK law is very clear - a person cannot agree to more than inconsequential harm to their person -. Any sensible dom will ensure they have genuine consent so that there are no complaints and the dom does everything as safely as possible and the bottom must be able to confirm that.

Sorry for waffling on, I love my kink and I am a bit nerdy about it. But I really believe there needs to be more education of newby submissives and dominants to help them understand the risks.

There are people on Fab who think certain play is erotic and therefore safety does not matter, but when you stray into BDSM safety of the bottom/sub/ playmate is essential.

Secondly you're insulting every genuine female victim of violence. You want to help someone then go and help them. Donate to a shelter, go on a demo. Challenge the shitty make attitude that we exist to please men and if we buck that then we deserve a beat down. They need your help. We, us willing, informed, responsible and stable submissive women, we're living our dreams and we need nothing from you. Thanks but no thanks. Go help a woman who needs it.
