Browsing local bongo mags hedgerow library. That's how we did it in the 80s. Find a magazine, hang on to it for a few days, then put it back.

Lived close by to a dogging site and a cottage and so I always had a very good idea what the crack was - probably well before I should have and before I was actually inclined to be interested - and I also bought Loot.

Having said that, I would say I mostly met people in pubs and clubs...

Being dirty 30, you might presume I'd have always had internet but we never had the internet at home as the Ma and Pa had no purpose for it at the time.

I went online in 2009 when I got my first flat aged 20. Prior to that, was a combination of pick-up adverts, numbers scribbled on bog walls, walks in the woods and good old pot luck on the tiles.

I am old enough - just ! - to remember the old school/no internet/mobiles not being central to life.

Early to mid-90's I used phone chatlines...

....occasionally chats resulted in late-night or early hours drives to visit ladies who were alone and horny - in at least one instance the lady was married, with a husband working nights...

....also directly led me into meeting couples, when one woman I was chatting with asked if her husband could watch - which he did, when I visited them the following evening...
