And this person looks nothing like you expected, what do you do? What do you say? Do you just get on with it? how do you get out of it?

Hiding from twats

Wouldn't happen. Always do a social somewhere public first.

Fair point, but spur over the moment meets do happen, but in this case just suppose it did happen how would you handle it

You could say 'Sorry, I don't actually live here, this is my brother's house and he's gone out - could it be him you're looking for?)'

hiding from cock pics.

I would say, can I help you? And completely make out I had no clue who they were as they were not who I was expecting.

If they then said they were from fab I would say 'unfortunately you don't seem to match your profile so I won't be taking this any further. Have a good evening," and then I would close the door.

It wouldn't happen to me though as that's not how I meet. But if it did that's what I would do

Lol happened to is once, met a couple but only the guy was there at first. 1.5 hours later (waiting for his partner to arrive) he started to make a move on the Mrs and she stopped him. Ten minutes later his partner arrived, we were both shocked to the core. Her photos were clearly 20-25 years old. We kept polite and chatted but told them we would not be playing and left, her face looked like thunder.

Brutal yet very effective

Wouldn't happen because social only first.

At the social I'd be polite and chat for a bit but cut it short.

This. Or I’d happily chat but then decline to take it further.

But I wouldn’t be in the situation OP described.

Hiding in the shadows

It wouldn't be my door!

But, a social I had in a pub

Guy walks in

"Oh, you're a lot shorter than I expected"

He was supposed to be 6'

He was 5'9.. In his biker boots

Needless to say, it was a very short social

The OP replied to someone else saying "but spur of the moment meets happen..."

They might for some people. Never, ever, and I mean ever, for me.

We always meet in clubs, we’re not into looks, we’re not vain or looking for love. Communication is key relaxing having banter , even if you don’t play you find a friend.

You learn from experience always to have a social with new people. We met a female who's pictures were clearly ancient and she never looked like herself. We were too polite and went ahead but it was a disaster. She could sense we were not happy with her. She said she was going to the loo after a bit of half hearted play and just walked out the front door! Not so much as a goodbye making it like we were at fault. Never again .

If you don't arrange a social first then you can't have any physical preferences or apply any importance to them, so it shouldn't happen - and if it does pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for being a prize twat!

Slightly off topic......

I met a lovely lady for a social yesterday, she was gorgeous.

A few minutes before our agreed meeting time though I was sat awaiting her arrival and there was a lady clearly also waiting for someone who kept making eye contact. I was starting to panic thinking the pics of my date might not be too accurate and thinking what I was going to say or do!!

A few moments later the person she was waiting for appeared and then my gorgeous date arrived. Happy guy then but for a few minutes I thought I was in trouble!

I’m a short arse but would never pretend to be taller than I am, I can’t magically grow a few inches before I meet anyone! So no surprises come from me, assuming someone reads the profile properly!

There shouldn’t be any surprises physically, a social meeting can then just be to work out whether you click or not!

Gotta agree nothing beats a coffee chat before a meet.

I went for a social last Yr. Met me at my car on carpark to go into pub.

I got a cold shudder locked my car doors and said your not for me and drove home. Didn't get out of car didn't drink.
