I was going to comment on a thread on another post but decided that it would take a post very off topic so thought I would ask here.

The poster said that she no longer swallowed cum or had it in her mouth after getting something orally...

Now pardon what could possibly be ignorance here... but surely if someone is infected whether he cums in your mouth or not.. your still at risk unless you use a condom???

Apologies if this sounds a bit uneducated and to be fair it wouldnt stop me doing what I love.. but I was just curious.

Of course you can get STIs from oral. Blood, semen etc. Risk is more if you have mouth cuts, ulcers and poor dental work

i was told once at a clinic that if you have a guy cum in your mouth you have more chance of picking up what they have if anything, but once they have cum in your mouth i dont think not swallowing it would matter

i think i may have to make a point of asking about this too lol

i know this sounds gross but i always check mens teeth out when i meet, if they have bad teeth or a unhealthy looking mouths its a no go, apart from looking nasty it does put you at higher risk

Oh, I doubt very much spitting and rinsing would make any difference if he was infected but it was an involuntary response!! Silly man told me he was cumming as he was cumming even though I had said I don't swallow.

I believe, and I think I asked at the time that cum is the risk factor. And yes, they said to me at the time that open ulcers, cuts etc are dangers.

lol im not that bad but you can tell by talking to someone if they have good oral hygine, i know you cant tell stuff like ulcers but you can tell swollen or bleeding gums, rotten teeth etc

there's much less risk from oral than unprotected sex. If you have ulcers etc your risk is higher so abstain till healed. Swallowing doesn't increase the risk as the risk is in the mouth.

When we s last at our GUM clinic I asked and yes you can catch STI for oral although a lot less risk than sex. I didn't know you can get clamidia of the throat, but that's what they told me. There is also another one you can catch on your throat, but dam if I can remember which they said. They said the risk is minimal, unless like said above you have gum problems or cuts in your mouth. I hate giving oral on a guy with a condom on, so guess its a risk you have to weigh up for yourself and go from there.

Say I knew you could catch something but was told it was a minimal risk... and I would never ever use a condom for oral...

But I love the taste and feel of cum to much to give up swallowing and just figured there was no more risk if I had the cum in my mouth or not.

as far as i know spunk and related infection in the stomach do not cause any problem since the acidity in the stomach kills all bacteria. so gettin CIM or swallowing does not change anything.

As far as I am aware their is no more risk if cum is swallowed.

The biggest risk for oral sex is if either party has a cold sore and anyone playing when they have coldsores should be avoided. Unfortunatly Herpes is uncurable and is easily passed on and can live in the body without any symptoms and is not tested for routinely, good news is most sufferers dont really have many outbreaks and it doesnt kill like aids.

Don't know the stastistics but did a short stint in a GUM clinic a few years ago and the majority of its visitors left with a short course of antibiotics and a bag of condoms and death was very rare
