We both get ourselves tested every 3 months, regardless of whether either or both of us has had sex with anyone else during that time. We always practice safe sex (although oral is unprotected) and we've never had a problem. It's the responsible thing to do in this lifestyle, and it's so easy to do...no excuse not to.

A trip to the clinic isn't embarrassing!!! This is the problem with many in this site.

Yes, it's the law if you're on the road. No bald tyres, all lights workin even if no ones at home, and the emission test if you don't want to end up on the wrong side of the climate rebellion (extinction).

Absolutely not embarrassing at all. It's their job and the staff make it very easy for you. So no excuse!

All of us have a responsibility to have regular tests. It`s not embarrassing & its really easy, No appointment, just queue up & get seen. The hardest bit is peeing in the little jar they give you.

Yep, they don't do the home tests in my area so I just pop to my local hospital that has a GUM clinic and get it done there.

Home testing kits are not available in all areas.

I've been to 2 clinics, both very professional and the process isn't invasive at all.

Unless you have a fear of needles.

You should get tested every 3 months if active. Throat and anal swabs. I use an online service so I can also send a link with my results... Not that I'm fucking anyone but my lover these days.

Frankly people lie about their activities, testing, and are unaware of their bodies. There are also the symptomless stis.

Don't trust that your married lover will be on it either!

How do you give a blood sample via that kit?

It contains a finger prick test and you fill a little tube

I really can't recommend them highly enough

Yup home test kit every 4mths - my local clinic is only open when I'm working so it's easier to do home kits. I hate the finger prick but it's worth it for peace of mind

We’re every 3-4 months or before we’re due to play. Actually have a right laugh at the clinic, the nurse actually keeps a eye out for our names so she can find out what naughtiness we’ve been getting up to!! She thinks it’s brilliant and finds it so refreshing to the normal d*unken fumble in a night club toilet..

There and to the left a bit

Get tested every 3-4 months depending how active I've been - have used both home testing (which is really easy to do and very efficient) and trips to the clinic (which isn't at all embarassing) - also try and keep informed about risks and different possibilities.

Firmly believe that sexual health starts with taking responsibility for your own

I tried the kits and found I couldn't get enough blood from my fingers, to do a proper sample. So back to the clinic I go!

It's not the easiest thing is it,I thought I'd give the home test kit a go for a change. It's a great service, but you need to get the right place in your finger to get enough blood,I had a couple of bruises afterwards

Yes! It's so important for everyone to do this! I do it ever couple months despite how many people I have or haven't met - it's totally for my own piece of mind!

Anyone struggling with the blood sample, I got told by a nurse that if you prick the side of your finger you'll get the blood easier and it'll avoid the bruising

That is useful - I've also found that running my hand under warm water immediately before and standing over the container with arm pointed down and "milking" my finger usually gets enough

I get mine sent to my friends address in London. I'm there for work lots anyway. All areas should have it though, especially in the face of widespread cuts re testing.

Check out the outreach clinic in your local clubs and gay saunas too, they are always free and often charity or NHS funded.

I know Club 29 and Purple Mamba have a clinic, there’s bound to be many more.
