Conflicting opinions on here. Can a swinger only be part of a couple? Is a swinger someone who enjoys nsa sex with others? Does a swinger have to have sex with someone new more often than once a week, or else they are just shagging around? Is someone only a swinger if they go to clubs?

I am genuinely confused! Especially a few posts from people saying that some people are 'watering down' the swinging side of this site.... By meeting people off here for sex.........

I think the biggest problem with this site on the whole (and any swinging site is the same), is people come here with a pre conceived idea of what [b]they[/b] want out of the site and if they do not get it then the site/people/etc are at fault.

This is a swinging site but I see no definitive definition of what swinging is really and the full list of what it covers or not.

However there does seem to be a vocal minority that expect everyone else to swing by their standards, use the site by their standards and well live by their standards.

As long as you're happy and not doing any harm to anyone else use the site how you please and try your best to ignore them !

cant be bothered to find the post i normally quote...so...

a swinger is someone who believes that sex between a couple need not be monogamous, that sex for physical pleasure is a fun hobby and that love has nothing to do with where you put your genitals for an evening.

There are single swingers, just as there are couples who because their relationship is abusive or controlling are not swingers. However just being single and looking for nsa sex does not make you a swinger any more than being a couple who fuck around without openness honesty and trust makes you a swinger.

Some people are cut out for swinging, they do not have the idea that a better relationship is an exclusive one, or that love is weakened by sex with others, there are very few about, and if at gunpoint i was forced to give the a label those are what i would define as swingers.

All labels are arbitrary of course,the only definition of swinger i can identify with is this one, which is why 99% of the time on here i prefer not to call myself one, since it seems to confuse things for those who are just here until they find someone to settle down with and have monogamous sex with for the rest of their life.

Nowadays it seems its just a label loosely befitting of person/people who sign-up to a website or go to a club/venue that provides a means of placing/displaying personal profiles or meeting in person (clubs/venue) such that person/people might meet others for whatever.

Labels tend to be adopted words/names and can end up being totally misleading as it can mean anything from whatever it was originally intended for and anything the people/society choose to tag onto it.

For you, me, and anyone else a Swinger is whatever you chose it to be. Maybe 30 years or so ago it meant wife-swapping, hence some people will say 'you can't be a swinger if you are single'.

It could be said its been diluted, equally it could be said its been expanded.

For you, me, and anyone else a Swinger is whatever you chose it to be. Maybe 30 years or so ago it meant wife-swapping, hence some people will say 'you can't be a swinger if you are single'.

Swinger. The name would appear to indicate someone who swings. I assume this means they can swing away from just the one person be it a regular partner or whatever. This does not preclude singles.

Apart from that it is what you want it to be. Just have a swinging time.

Some people can't fathom the idea of just having sex and enjoying other people without having a hang up upon them or needing or wanting them for other reasons.

because they could never be good swingers, they assume, others similarly cannot be.

This works with most things in life, perception, being a bigger problem than the reality. Which is never as bad as individual perception.

Swinging has evolved like most things in life, anyone who preaches exclusion is probably out of date.
