She suffered for many years with self esteem issues about how she looked. Did she have relationships with blokes thinking that because she thought she was unnatractive, they must think she is too? A person suffering from low self worth can attract a certain type of partner who really would fuck a ham sandwich (or a cucumber) as that person may also have issues about their own looks.

Whilst the media (and its a hell of a lot of women included in that) continue to dictate whats beautiful and the ideal, then this will go on ad nauseum.

At least she now nows she might not be Kate Moss but blokes can still fancy her for being her. She doesnt give a fuck anymore and thats always attractive.

Not keen on Jeremy Clarkson (bullying diva) but Kathy Burke is fantastic. I don't think there are many 'man haters' on here, but I do think that women now have a voice and express their opinions. Something men have always done unchecked. The comment was probably humorous with an element of truth. Most guys have very different needs sexually to women, and will go to great lengths to have them satisfied. This is not a sexist comment. More an observation based on experience.

Kathy Burke has been lambasted over her looks throughout the years. How she takes on that sort of media criticism, and then fronts a programme in which she shows a lot of empathy, towards women who are trying desperately to conform to societies demands on how a woman should look, is very commendable.

Kathy always comes across as genuine and approachable to me, proud of her working class roots and to be true to herself. When the surgeon suggested how she would improve her looks

by removing her double chin, no doubt she could afford it, she happily walked away, preferring to be who she is, and not conform to anyone elses idea of beauty or being more attractive.

She also has the ability to say what she thinks, check out what she had to say about Helena Bonham Carter. So she wouldn't mince her words about Men, if she truly thought they were all single minded apes.

Thanks to Kathy women,who aren't perceived as beautiful can see that the arts are not only for the beautiful few, available for all, no matter your how you look. If you have talent, drive and intelligence, all that Kathy has in abundance, that's what you need.

The reason anytime Kathy appears in a film,play or show, I'll always tune in.

Yes I'm a massive fan of hers
