Swinging frequency?

Me and Mrs Hikingpair were discussing how often we would meet to play, ideally. Too often and maybe the novelty wears off and it all feels a bit 'samey' ... Not often enough and the frustration starts to build, especially when caused by cancellations, timewasters and the like. Mrs thinks once a month, I'm more once a fortnight, interested to see what works for other folk.

Ours changes, we tend to go in fits and starts and also depends how busy ‘real’ life is. For example we visited xtasia 4 times in 6 weeks earlier in the year but haven’t made it back there now since prob March time

2 or 3 times a month, mixed up of private meets, clubs and parties. Variety in venue, situation and people keeps everything, including seeing regulars fresh and fun. If we did the same thing, for example just private meets only we’d probably get bored quickly xxx

August consists of:-

Hotel meet with a new couple

Club visit with friends

Private house party

Private meet with regular lady

Variety keeps it fun xx

I think it can vary based on many things - mood, connection with the other person(s), availability etc - why set a timetable round it as opposed to go with the flow when you both feel the need?

We've been swinging 20 years, still love to go to club every Weds and one or two meets a month at weekends.

Due to circumstances and distance I only get to my 'local' club once every 2 months. I wish I could go more though.

Thanks for the replies, what we're realising is that keeping it interesting is about creating variety ... I guess going to clubs and parties really helps with that, you will meet new people, see new things, different environment ... Perhaps we need to bite the bullet ...

For me it's as and when the oppertunity arises. I mostly go to clubs about 3 or 4 times a year and maybe 2 or 3 meets a year - fab is a nice added extra to my life but it's not the be all and end all.

We grab play dayes when we can. We dpuce things up, doggin, clubs, private meets. Kerps things fresh and exciting.

We do this in and out of the bedroom, when its just the 2 of us too.

I'm not consistent with meets at all. Can do one a month, then have 3 in a week, us a club visit! Depends on a mix of mood and opportunity

Also agree that how much you swing depends on real life cicumstances, but what I meant in the original question was what would be ideal if you didn't have to account for kids, holidays, work, friends ... We only manage once a month on average for those reasons, but more often than that would suit me better ... But what we've got is pretty good, I'm not complaining!!
