messaging etiquette

Do you think that messaging on these sites has unwritten rules of etiquette?

We just received a message from a guy asking to play but with no details or pictures. Upon reading his profile I saw that he required people that message him to include face and body pics plus all info that was needed and not available in the profile. so I messaged back and asked if surely he should run by his own rules. I was instantly met with the one word answer of 'muppet' and blocked ( I can only assume this guy thought I was the MR not the MRS)

Whenever we send messages out, we include the best pictures of ourselves and all relevant info, plus a nice personal message, not a copypasta and yet so many men seem to think that one or two word messages will get them laid!

Does anybody have sets of 'rules' for sending messages or on the other end of the scale a big list of messages to copy and paste?

I look at the profile and if its thinner than a Somalian pirate would either ignore or politely decline. No point in letting anyone bother you and just smile to your self at how its not done.
