Meet without pic - a deliberate tactic?

Jump to newest

I’m sure most of us on here have had a message from someone asking us to meet without a photo. Saying “meet somewhere public and see if you like me. You won’t be disappointed” or something similar.

My question is - do you think the majority of people asking to meet without a photo are withholding their photo as a deliberate tactic? To get you in a socially awkward position that you can’t back out of?

Or am I being overly suspicious?

probably, but how many actually meet someone without seeing a picture first?

that tactic is likely less successful than 'faf'

If you agree to meet without seeing a picture of someone you put yourself in the awkward position, if indeed it was awkward. Personally I feel that if someone has asked you to meet to see if you like them there should be no awkwardness attached to telling them you don't.

That’s a good attitude to have, in regards to not feeling awkward.

I’m sure most people don’t have the confidence to say “you’re ugly” or “you’re not for me” directly to a persons face. I’m sure the people that try to arrange these kind of meets know exactly that.

It’s quite predatory in a way. BUT that’s only me assuming that’s why they do it. That’s just a feeling I get...

I’m a munter, but I couldn’t bring myself to try the meet without pic, surely virtual rejection (I.e. a no thanks or no reply) is better than the possibility of total public humiliation??

It's does seem predatory and scary to say the least.

My response to these has always been "Do I look like Cilla Black? Because I don't do blind date"

Though I have to confess the thought of meeting a strange blind for sex is a turn on. Be even more of a turn on if I were to meet blindfolded or if they had a mask.

It's easier for me, I'm part of a couple, I fully understand that. I've read that people have actually gone through with meets due to not wanting to offend which is very sad.

I wouldn't say predatory but it's certainly manipulative. However this is an adult game and we all need to be cautious about putting ourselves in situations that make us vulnerable. I am often at the naivety of some.

Do women come to your house without knowing who you are?

I think some people do have very genuine reasons for not sharing face pics, but I would at least want to see good body shots. And I wouldn't want to give them my face pics - fair's fair.

Good point and yours is a profile with pics that perfectly show what you look like and your physical attributes without revealing the face pic. Anyone meeting you guys would surely forego a full face pic because they know what they are getting by your profile pics.

Seems odd to me. I wouldnt even consider a meet without face pics. We all have different types so how the hell would they know if I'd be disappointed.

Thanks - hopefully we're not in the category of 'body off baywatch, face off crimewatch'
