I’m curious, how many of you are offended by the word cunt? In my opinion it’s the best word! It can be used in anger, passion, friendly banter and of course out of pure love (I’m Mr B’s Queen Cunt).

I find it interesting that it offends so many! Why is it?

S xx

Would you like the word if it wasn't offensive to others?

Yep! I don’t use it to offend people. It has this stigma but actually it shouldn’t be anymore offensive than dick or cock in my opinion.

I think for me because it's heard so infrequently it carries a perceived stronger offense. Also not quite onomatopoeic but the sound of the word isn't nice.

As apposed to "you fanny" or "you tit" which I quite often use with my mates on a banter level.

Fair enough. I use cunt probably as often as the word hello lol. So it’s not infrequent for me or my friends. I cringe at the word fanny lol

Seem to recall a C4 documentary on the word called The C word.

Turns out the origin of the word vagina is a sheath for a mans weapon.

Their conclusion was that cunt should not be offensive but vagina was.

Context is everything......

If Lou is asking me to please lick her c*** I’m not offended

If a van driver is leaning out of his window shouting I am a c*** then I may well be offended

It’s not the word it’s the intent

If the van driver were yelling it at me, I'd probably be trying to identify what I had done to offend him. Maybe I was being a cunt.

Yes I suppose it’s possible he’s just trying to be helpful

Very off putting when used as a swear word

Very exciting when someone is whispering in my ear where they are going to put their cock

It’s our favourite swear- a draw with “fuck”

I strangely dislike the word when used sexually about me, it seems vulgar that way but totally appropriate when someone’s acting like one. -Mrs

I think cunt is hilarious. Hubby calls me a "silly cunt" quite a bit when I do daft stuff. I reckon I am desensitized to it.
