I'm sure there are others out there who are going through hard time. Is swinging a coping mechanism for you? Do you have others?

A coping mechanism to cope with what? Certainly not in our case.

When I'm going through a hard time, i cease swinging. It's definitely not part of my coping strategy.

God no. Using something like this as a coping mechanism is a recipe for disaster. Messy, drama filled disaster.

I use most of the bog standard recommendations for mental health/ self care, and step away from a difficult environment like this one.

Like a distraction from 'real life' you mean. We don't but I think if things are tough in certain ways having some time out doing things you enjoy is a big help.
