London Hotel question

Hi I am travelling to London this week and will be staying in a hotel for a few nights. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of which hotel to stay in.

I would like to arrange a meet or 2 while I’m there. However most hotels now require you to use your keycard just to access the lifts or floors. Being a TV who likes to be discreet i wouldn’t feel comfortable coming down to reception all dressed in fishnets etc. to bring someone up to the room.

Does anyone know of any nice hotels in Central London which don’t require the room key to access the lifts/stairs/floors?

Leonardo Royal hotels don’t require a key and neither do Hilton’s as far as I rem_mber.

Try the Leonardo Royal at Saint Pauls. Great location, really nice hotel and plenty of people nearby.

There's very little that a London hotel won't have seen.

Act confident and as long as you don't receive complaints from other rooms you'll be fine.

Personally my honest advice, don't go to London.

It's too dangerous, the police don't have it under control. I don't go there anymore and don't intend to.

Great opinion

Look at other uk cities and the rides in crime.

It’s not just London

And it tends across the uk to be the same elements of society that are dying.

Easily overcome, when reception ring you to let you know that your guest has arrived, just tell them to bring him/her to the room. You pay for good service get them to do it.

When you add up all the facilities and service it's actually very good value.

Holiday Inn Kensington doesn’t need key for the lifts, and the some of lift doors aren’t visible from reception either

Just inform reception your so called wife / gf will be joining you later and to leave the spare key card there just incase ur out - wink wink.

For simplicity, try searching Airbnb. You don’t need a £900 a night hotel even if you could afford it.

There are 1133 hotels in London so it is impossible to make recommendations without knowing budget, location and what sort of hotel you are looking for

Many of the big brands are franchised, so security arrangements and down to the individual owner or operator and you can’t say that “X” brand does or doesn’t have key card readers as it varies by each site.

I’d suggest you’ll be fine in any big corporate hotel which are fairly anonymous, but I’d avoid smaller boutique properties which are more personalised service. In a large hotel they won’t even notice you at all.

You could always call in advance of booking to ask, it’s a perfectly normal question, security is important to a lot of guests. Or leave a second key for your companion at reception if you know their name. If you’re really worried about it then use AirB&B, but honestly you’ll be fine in most hotels.

They won't know you're you.

A hotel will have loads of guests, if you get ready in your room and go down to reception to meet someone the staff won't recognise you because you'll look totally different.

I have stayed in Bayswater's hotel, as that's where am from originally and location is amazing, Hyde park , Notting Hill Gate within walking distance and central line and circle line near by , bus's to oxford street, any lady fancy trip
