I've had them where I freeze and can't talk for 12 hours and am living in terror. I worked on my mental Health to prevent getting them. If you get a real panic attack there is nothing you can do to stop it or for yourself out. So I am perscribed beta blockers but will obtain benzodiazepine if I can if I am having a panic attack. I think I would ask for paramedic to come with a vallium or xanax if possible. Otherwise the best you can do is beta blockers. | |||

I kept awake by drinking shed loads of coffee. That evening about 9pm I had a panic attack... indescribable fear...felt awful....was immobilised | |||

People might doubt it but we had the same feeling without overdosing on drugs. Some idiots will say "what the fucks up there's nothing wrong with you" ....but actually you can't hear more than 1 word or answer simple questions. Luckily I don't get panic attacks frequently anymore. Sometimes it's happened to me in rooms full of strangers and I am too terrified to stand up. | |||

If you go down this route, check they are registered with British accupuncture council though." Grounding will help you too. Classic signs of not being grounded are feeling light and floaty, being ditzy and clumsy and forgetful. | |||

EFT = Emotional Freedom Technique is great for things like Panic attacks Weight loss Phobias Anxiety Depression Stopping smoking etc You can learn the basics of EFT in about 10 minutes. EFT is easy to learn and do. It costs nothing to do. | |||

Paramedic here.....we don't carry Xanax.....we do carry diazepam ( Valium) but would never use it, or any drugs, for an acute anxiety attack. We would identify and remove any triggers....then coach respirations. The old paper bag technique does work for some....or if you're a smoker go for a day! All the mindful, meditation suggestions are very useful Plenty of YouTube videos.....find one which works for you | |||
