After seeing how many profiles I've clicked on that are looking for "Hung BBC" or "White Men Only", should there be an option to add racial preferences on your profile?

So for advanced searches, there could be a checkbox that has "Profiles That are Looking For My Race".

Reason for this post is a lot of people on here don't wish to meet Asian men (which is perfectly fine, you can like whoever you want), it would just make finding profiles that are open to talk to me a lot easier to find.

Thoughts/opinions?

It is sad to even come to that.

A bloody race filter is totally backward in my opinion.

As much as I'd love to agree with you, and trust me I get where you are coming from, I think that a race filter would create even more communautarism that they already have on fab.

Put it on your profile that you are Asian and if ppl do not wish to not talk to you due to your race they can go fuck themselves

I think the lack of replies is possibly due to many other threads getting a bit heated, when racial preference in swinging is questioned.

My preferences say that I'm straight.

It doesn't stop all sorts of offers from men. I always refuse but I do get a bit of banter. People I would never speak to in the real world.

You can use the advanced search to look for a particular ethnicity & then use the option to show users whose requirements you match, other than that i don't think there's any other way to filter through profiles

But why couldn't this feature be implemented?

Even dating sites have this kinda search option - and before people say fabs isn't a dating site, these preferences still exist and people do know what they want

Black Asian people are not for me as my sexual attraction is light skinned but that doesn't mean I think we should have a block them all button or search criteria thing....just because your not sexually attracted to someone doesn't mean you won't chat or speak to them....it's about sexual attraction not hate

Yeah that's a fair point, but I'm talking more about it being an option to search people based on their preferences, not an outright block.

The search function is mainly (but not always) used to find meets, and having that extra option makes it easier for people like me to connect with others whose preferences I match

People get twitchy on any question concerning race, but I can see how this feature might help you find the people most likely to meet you.

Have you tried posting the idea in the site feedback forum?

Whilst people do get 'twitchy', majority of profiles explicitly state what type of people they're looking for. What I've suggested would benefit everyone that uses the search function!

I wanna see what people think about it first before making an official submission on that forum!

I know this is a swingers site but it's not all about sex....I've had some good giggles chatting to people I don't fancy but I've still chatted to them....It should be fun it should also be friendly so you blocking all you don't fancy is just making it bland for you and like it's Insta shag with no fun

If you do or don’t wish to fuck outside your race then I can’t see why it is a problem. Same with sexuality and gender. Do we need filters? I don’t know, but I don’t see why they shouldn’t be there if some of us do.

'White trash' That's the most racist comment on this tread....If people want to have a preference let them do there thing....No one can have sex with someone they don't fancy and should do that just because of peer pressure from the pc world idiots but that's not racial it's just who your sexually attracted too....So don't say that white people on here have superiority complexes when it's you that's making the racial comments

Like when you go on holiday abroad and eat only what you eat at home, why not try the local food?

It must be very frustrating looking through profiles then coming to the no black/Asian part, wasted your time then off to another profile. It clearly would benefit you if a tick box was there for us all which indicated we're open to meeting other races then you wouldn't have to waste time on the profiles that don't want to meet you based upon your colour, you can go straight to the profiles where your more likely to get a meet. So yes, can clearly see how it would work for you.

No it doesn't. The OP wants to meet people who are interested in meeting black men and he can't search for them directly. The search facility only allows you to search by ethnicity which is totally different to what the OP us requesting.

the suggestion here if I've read it correctly is to select people by their race, so pigeon hole race by race it just doesn't sound right and I'm afraid it isn't but personal choice is, I don't disagree with personal choice, I don't disagree with what the Ops asking for but it is race activated, anything that suggests a whole genre of people is deselected is racist but as the Ops request can't be adhered to its also a rather pointless analogy

I’ve raised this point about having a search feature for those who meet playmates interested in interracial sex.

Instead of going through profile after profile seeing the statement “No Blacks/Asians” I’d rather have a tick box which would filter out the people who do not wish to meet people of a different race.

That's not the suggestion I'm making.

Advanced search *currently* allows users to filter out people of a particular race.

My suggestion is to show people that want to meet *your* race.

*EXAMPLE*

Jane is a WHITE female.

John is a BLACK male.

Jane wants to only meet BLACK men, and John wants to only meet ASIAN women.

Jane can use the advanced search to find BLACK men in her area. (This option exists right now, check for yourselves if you don't believe me).

John shows up on Jane's search results because he is a BLACK male.

But John DOES NOT want to meet WHITE women, he wants to only meet ASIAN women.

*SUGGESTION*: remove John from showing up on Jane's search results by having race preferences in the "Edit Profile" section.

People already write their race preferences in their profile, why not just make it a search criteria?

Totally disagree with that analogy. The op IS NOT filtering anybody out by race, he's searching for those who want to include other races into their sex life, the complete opposite of racism, and by having the ability to do so the way he would like would save him alot of time wasted.

There is an ironic confusion here. What people are miss understanding and I wrote this on the forum about a year back too.

You can search for people because of there race..., so if someone likes a race they can look for you, but you can't currently search for the people who are looking for you.

For example To actually find women who are into my type, I have to look through the verifications of other guys who are similar to me. But other then that I have to go profile to profile and read every word.

Personally think all the filters should be included, body type, height, hair colour, bearded, race, hell shaved or unshaved. I think transparency is more efficient then sifting through and messaging people who won't reply because your not their type.

After reading these comments all of which have good points and worthy of discussion,its our opinion that we don't really mind either way lol.if it had a filter then people can choose to use it.if it doesn't then we can carry on as is. It's a very interesting discussion and good to talk about though.in our opinion ( which is worth very little) we just don't worry enough about these sort of things in general.we have fun with nice people that like us a couple and that suits us to a tee

I’m confused, are you saying you’re against the idea because people assume your ethnicity?

My ethnicity gets assumed on here also, people assume because I’m lighter skinned I’m mixed race, when in fact I am 100% black.

Doesn’t bother me though, I just correct them!

As someone who is completely clear about my preferences, I would like to see and be seen exclusively by those I desire to potentially play with and nobody else. Others will have very much more varied tastes. Personally, it would save a lot of time and many messages from those who have opinions about my preferences, because they are not Black. Haha. So it would help me, nothing to do with rascism in my case, just practicalities, choices, preferences which we all have. Its a sex site after all

Yes, it is OK. A person has only so much time, and they have the right to choose from among those they have a chance to be attracted to. For exceptions, they can meet in person in clubs or at parties.

It should be an option after all its a compulsory criteria you have to fill in when creating a profile though you can tick prefer not to say. I would also say it should be possible to remove yourself from search parameters based on this it would cut out unnecessary messages and save everyone's time.

We agree with a filter, it’s saves people like ourselves being faced with “No Blacks / Asians, not racist, just our preference” footnote and saves time for those who wish not to communicate with people like ourselves, having to write the bloody statement in the first place.

It is very sad such filters are required but it is a reflection of our society outside of this site.
