I was thinking... We read the phrase "must be local" as a request on lots of profiles.

What is the advantage? If someone is attractive and willing to meet up or visit you, why must they be local?

Does anyone have experience of meeting someone 50 miles plus away and not having a good time?

90 miles so far, without meet, but wasn't there fault, just bad timings and communication from me

Agree completely, i only meet I'd there is a mental connection as well as the physical. Distance has never bothered me I love to travel its makes it better as there is real effort made. It also gets me thinking of all the missed opportunities when you build a rapport and then they say nooooo your a little too far followed by radio silence.....baffles me.

I have a playmate who i see occasionally who lives 60 miles from me. Im always happy to travel. She doest drive and public transport is always the best.

I do more than that traveling to and from work. Yet a couple i liked on here thought i was to far away even though it was less then an hours drive away

With locals there's more of a chance of repeat meets

Some of the ones that get chatting with give it the biggun ohhh I will come and see you etc etc then never bother

That's my reasons for only wanting locals

Agree with you too locals are always good for repeats and I've been let down countless times from long range ladies x weeks of building up a connection and then no show.....

North fife

D lives in Fife and I'm in North Lincolnshire, he travels here every other week for 5 nights, so with that amount of travel we prefer to keep our meets local.. Having said that we rule nothing out.

Closer distance just makes things easier.

It would be disappointing to travel a long way and find we are not attracted. Time is limited. We also want ongoing meets and that's much easier with people who are fairly close.

This. Plus I'm not up for the pressure of "but I came all this way just to see you, what do you mean you're not interested?"

OK. I have a new understanding now.

I do agree with the pressure to perform if the other person has travelled a long way.

Some people are willing to travel, but they may say anything to get into my knickers.
