No. All in well talking here and thinking pics look good but of no chemistry in person, be a let down. Plus as someone who agreed to meet a guy for coffee last year have that guy walk into coffee shop, come over to me and as I stood up to say hi. Was looked up and down and was told ' oh no your definitely not for me" and than proceed to leave coffee shop. Will never just meet someone without exchanging pics

I agree but I went on a meet once knew the woman a long time and she had no teeth lol they were black and rotten and looking back on her pics she never smiled, we chatted had a coffee and went our separate ways but I agree great conversation and humour, personality intellect etc can only be gained by meeting, texting is one thing but physically meeting is a whole different ball game.

2 of my social meets have not progressed due to there being no connection or chemistry in person.

It may be different here, just because Dunedin is such a small place.

I have to be very careful because of my job so prefer not to swap face pics. I assume the same for the guy too.

If they choose to share their pic first and I don't recognise them then I will reciprocate

If I arrange a meet time and place with someone which is public then I can back out if I recognise and explain by message ASAP why I was a no show.

Not ideal, but saves a lot of embarrassment.

We Have a few times. All we require to see are body pics not face pictures. Because we have found in the past, at times, we have been attracted to the face but when we met he/she were nothing like the pictures. And at same time we have met others who we thought "no, not for us" after seeing the face pic but still went ahead because of the banter etc in messages and were surprised just how good looking they are.

So now we ask them not to show us their faces as we also like the mystery of not knowing. We do make it clear it's only a social though once the meet is arranged. We only agree to take it further once it's clear we are all attracted too each other.

Yes I agree , there has to be an attraction but I get what the other lady was saying that sometimes a photo can be misleading . Sometimes ,, in fact a lot of the time it can be about a look , a twinkle in the eye or a smile font you think ? All things you might not pick up from a photo

Like others I've had great meetings and not so great but I think it adds to the excitement if you don't know what you're getting.

Worse case Is nothing happens if the person you meet isn't what's expected.

To reiterate though I meet for socials first, after chatting, and tbh many people don't look like their photos for various reasons. I would only consider taking it further if it was the whole package! Making a decision based on photos would never work for me as I find intelligence and amazing discourse far more attractive than a pretty face.

I don't do it often and am definitely not "desperate" in anyway. Just am a gregarious soul who believes that laughter and good communication is very sexy ... luckily what happens next might just be the adventure!

No, basically because I need to make sure they aren’t somebody I’m going to know socially or professionally outside of this site.

Although saying that, I did it once, although not dressed, arrived at an address to meet an unknown couple. Was a little awkward to begin with but by the end of the night we had all enjoyed our evening??

From now on it’s more discreetly does it for me!
