Would they know they had been yellow carded and would you be giving an explanation for the yellow card?

Some people react badly to being turned down, would they also react badly to being yellow carded?

There's always a reason for blocking. People just don't want to think about what it is.

A warning would lead to abuse and manipulation. (and honestly if I think there's hope to recover something, I can use my words. "I don't like x, stop it". And I have done)

Are you meaning blocks from profiles or being blocked by admin? That would give 2 different answers.

I think a block from admin would benefit from a yellow card..so you know what you did wrong.

If it's blocks from profiles, it's their choice and they don't need to give a reason

i may be wrong but admin only ban for serious rule breaches which lets face it we should all know anyway, and is there too much harm in a short ban from say chat rooms or posting in forums i do see it may have some merit with newbies but serial offenders, which many are! i see little need as for a yellow card for users to use hell no way!!! imagine all the " boo hoo why did you yellow card me your and ugly bitch anyway" messages

There and to the left a bit

I honestly don't see the point of it OP - if someone has behaved like an arse enough to merit a block, they're not going to suddenly change their behaviour because they've been given a warning.

Likewise if someone blocks someone because they don't like their profile enough to want to engage with them, and to prevent them wasting their time by messaging again (which people often do) then they're not likely to change their mind.

Ultimately it's down to people to take responsibility for their actions and accept that they may be blocked for any number of reasons and not to have any expectation someone will change their mind just because they have been given a warning.

People use the block button for many reasons.

Because they don't want that profile to contact them again

Because they've contacted someone and been turned down

Because of something they said in the forum

Because they've been rude to them

And many, many more.

It's never for no reason.

Why? We block people we have no intention of meeting for various reasons so they don't show up in searches and don't waste their time messaging us. Are we meant to issue "a yellow card" telling them to become someone else or they'll be blocked?

I know on some sites people use the block function to avoid keep viewing profiles of people they've deemed not for them, apparently useful for standard members on sites which limit the amount of profiles they can view.

My experience on gay sites like Fabguys is that many guys can' be bothered to read profiles or think they are going to be the exception to the rule and send some inane message usually involving BDSM or anal sex, a simple no thanks doesn't work, they just try again in a few days, I've found the only way to stop these idiots is the block button.

Just had a particularly grim message from some random about a felching fantasy. In some detail. I don’t want to warn him that the message is horrid and inappropriate, which may result in him thinking that he is basically OK in his approach. I just want to block him so that there’s no chance of me ever hearing about him wanting to suck a black man’s sperm out of my anus ever again.

To give someone a yellow card would be suggesting they've done something wrong. There are several reasons why people block, and most have nothing to do with 'bad behaviour' - so what would be the point?

People are under no obligation to have to receive messages from others on here or have them looking at their photos. As has been said, people have their reasons.

We block people whose intro message starts with ‘do you have photos?’, ‘I’m nearby let’s meet’ etc and also single men that pester with constant winks, friend requests and non-stop messaging even after we’ve said no thanks.

If you got a yellow what would you do?

How would someone progress that to a red?

It sounds like wanting a right to appeal a block, which for most is enough reason to block in the first place.

We use blocking to help filter. 90% of the people we have blocked have been smokers.

Each to their own of course but it absolutely not in line with our choice. Wouldn’t our yellow card have to be nicotine patches or e-cigarettes?

The problem is the negative feeling behind being 'blocked'. It might be better if it was a 'hide' button as that is what we use it for really, to hide profiles of people that we dont have interest in sexually.

Agreed, maybe a hide button as well, however, if I block someone it's for a valid reason, they have to have crossed the line, it doesn't happen here but on Fabguys and Cottaging, even though I'm very specific about being strictly vanilla, not liking the sir/master crap and very specific about anal sex either way, ie it's not on the cards I still get offers from guys who think they are going to be the exception, some will take a simple 'no thanks' others won't and end up being blocked, I've even had people set up a new profile a few weeks later and send the same inane messages. To be fair, if I get all that shit on the others sites un the family I can't begin to think of the sort of shit the females and couples have to put up with on here.
