Is it only me that is scared beheebizeesus of catching something from a potential partner in the life style?(even if safe sex or otherwise)

The sheer numbers feel like the odds are very high. Sticking with my fantasies and thoughts have never meant I need a trip to the clinic. It is a huge mental hurdle for me and one which probably restricts experiences.

It’s not for everyone this casual sex .

For many the fantasy is enough and equally sometimes the fantasy is superior to the reality.

Remember my first 3way was nothing like I imagined lol

Thanks for the reply. And yes I totally get the reality vs fantasy. Many of mine are finely crafted over decades! Not sure reality would ever come close but then the fantasy probably will never get the same level of excitement either. My healthy body is far more important though.

If you feel that way stay as you are. Casual sex isn't for everyone and if it's going to cause you angst don't do it. Lots of people have profiles that say they aren't meeting.

There is no such thing as safe sex. There is sex and there is safer sex. Everybody has to make their own decisions.

Just you and your hand then? Otherwise it's still recommended you get tested.

Clean hands yes , but a rather flippant comment Sally. I don't need to be judged on my fear or concerns ty.

Agree with the safe/safer comment earlier and accepting the risk you are comfortable with.

We totally understand your concerns balanced against normal desires.

You can reduce any potential risk by being careful and very selective with whom you play.

Sounds easy, no it's not, just find people you can trust - they are out there - and enjoy.

You are not alone. This is the very reason we are looking for a dedicated play couple who are also prepared to play 'only' with us. We realise this is a big ask, nigh-on impossible when you factor in that we have to also be attracted to them, and them to us, but then again you won't ever hear us complain of no meets either.

Even though I always play safe, I am regularly tested, but it’s always at the back of my mind I could get something from any sexual contact outside of protected penetration.

Even the other day I’d ended up with marks on the end of my cock which panicked me a bit until I remembered the person I’d slept with had a coil fitted... panic over and they’d gone in a few days!

"Did it pierce the condom ?"

Not this time. Obviously everyone’s anatomy is different, but I have had it happen before with someone who obviously had a slightly shallower vagina and a coil fitted. It broke several condoms and it caused a bit more of a lasting injury too.

I'm sorry to be blunt, OP, but what guarantee have you got you're not going to catch anything from someone who is not 'in the lifestyle'??? It annoys me so much that there is the stereotype that being swingers/having multiple partners equals being full of disease. Yes, the risk increases with every sexual partner you've had, but I'd say there is much more knowledge about safe(r) sex, as well as higher awareness of STDs and testing within the swingers community than in the general population.

The only way to be 100% sure you're not going to catch anything is total abstinence.

I’d love to agree with you, but I’ve seen LOADS of blokes try and slip an ungloved cock in females I’ve been with at clubs and act all innocently when they’ve had a firm scowl and head-shake from me. So maybe it’s largely just the men?

I'm not saying people won't still try and go for bareback sex, for a variety of reasons. I had some guys try it a few times, both at a house party and at a club.

What I am trying to say is there is no way of telling where and when you can catch something. And it is not necessarily related to how many sexual partners you've had, or they had.

We've been swinging for well over 10 years now and we are regularly tested. Touch wood (pardon the pun!) we've never caught anything up to now, so just because you have multiple play partners, doesn't necessarily mean you will catch anything as long as you always use protection.
