If someone who you were going to meet here or anywhere else disclosed that they had a sexual disease would it prevent you from meeting them?

If they currently had a std then no. If they had contractes something in the past but were now clean. Then yes I would and thank them at the same time for thier honesty.

Soo.... Is this that they have had a sexual disease and are now clear? What sexual disease are we talking about?

So if someone has the hsv virus type 2 I would decline. If someone has genital warts but not currently having a flare up again I would probably decline.

If someone has hiv but has a non detectable viral load which means I can't catch it then I would still probably decline because I wouldnt want to put myself at any risk at all if a condom split.

Someone that's had a treatable sti as long as they have been retested to make sure they are no longer infected I will happily meet them (if I was meeting) as means they have been tested. Infact I would rather meet someone like that than someone who never gets tested

Depends on the disease and whether they had been treated/given the all clear. I got chlamydia from my first ever boyfriend. Only found put cos I take my health seriously and got tested. Course of tablets and it was gone. That was nearly 28 yrs ago, so according to some on here they would never meet someone like me. It left me with a legacy that I value my health, play safer and always go for regular testing.

Did you get tested?

Some STI's have no symptoms in men, not sure if that's one of them. Possible he had it for 10 years and didn't know. Bit weird how he suddenly found out he had it though.

He said if had contacted years before he had no idea till the day he found out. He was adamant that he must have always had it or I had cheated and gave it to him.

Someone who’s been brutally honest and told you the unvarnished truth?

At least you know what you’re getting into with them. Most it’s an unknown quantity.

I’d admire their honesty, have a grown up conversation with them, weigh up the risks and make a decision based on that. They would also be someone I felt I could trust and it would certainly be a big step towards a friendship.
