Not bringing condoms to a sex club

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

I’ve encountered this a few times and an always astonished men do this if they’re looking to play. I’ve always walked away.

Does anyone have any insights into why someone might go to a club, look to play (because I’m not twisting their arm) and NOT have condoms on them? Especially at play parties.

It’s a complete mood killer.

Casual barebacking in a club. Always the option of choice - NOT! Astonishing.

Plenty of guys do it. Because they want bareback. My experience of clubs is that at least a third of guys try for bareback. I was once warned by a watcher that the guy about to enter me hadn’t put on a condom on. He was ordered out of the room but it spoilt the whole playtime and I didn’t bother carrying on.

Wow. I haven’t experienced anything like 30%. I’d say more 5-10%. It may be different by region and event. Maybe regular club goers are better prepared and more versed in rules of the scene? I would hope.

Think of it a different way... You're semi naked, down to your underpants.. and you're aimlessly walking around with a condom packet in your hand. Lol.

Perhaps I'm old school having been a late teens in the early 1980s and pretty much had it drummed into you about safe sex, I always have a condom on me when go to meet someone, even if it's just a social because you never know if it might turn into something more.

Just the one!! You have low ambitions. Many tick them under the band of their locker key. The really well prepared have a little play bag with lube, little toy etc. That’s what all those little ‘pencil cases’ are. We’re not writing on each other..

That, or tuck them into the towel, or have even seen some guys with a small pouch/bag that they go and get and bring to the play area.

I made myself a little pouch that clips onto my locker key. Never short!

It's come to the rescue of others a couple of times (it's easy to underestimate how many to bring when the night turns better than you expect). They sell them at the bar, but you don't want to put the action on hold.

Because very often they will find those that also dont wear condoms. As much as they will be knocked back by those that do.

Given that there are posts explicitly discussing what percentage of men do it, and nothing in the OP even implied it was anywhere like all men, I’m not sure how you come to the conclusion that ‘all men’ are being labelled the same?

No. The condomless are just left hard and frustrated while the women go off to find someone with respect. It just makes us more appreciative of the respectful players imho.

They don't use condoms. They fuck around bareback. That's what most men do 'in the real world'. They also assume that if someone is using condoms it's because they're infected.

I’d expect any man I had sex with, however we met and in whatever context, to bring condoms. In a sex club I think there are pretty much no excuses for not coming prepared if you’re going to stick your dick in someone there.

Central

Not everyone uses condoms or covering for manual/oral action, where kissing, lots of body caressing and more is enjoyed. Some people want bareback penetration too. Lots of reasons people don't have condoms, as many places have copious supplies.

Some people carry their own, due to allergies or preference too and chancers may just hope that the other people have them.

I can confirm to you that the condom-less ones do not get left hard and frustrated at all. Women don't just go off and find someone with respect. A condom-less guy can be just as respectful as any other guy. I think you're taking it a little bit too far!

I'll tell you about my very last experience just to help you see that it's actually very simple:

The last time I went to a club, two ladies were playing, one of them invited me over. We had a bit of fun... As I was about to go in, I politely asked "Hey, do you have a condom?", she simply said "Yes Hun!" and handed one over from her handbag. I put it on and the fun continued. It was a very simple and painless process and no emotional or physical damage was done.

Some men carry condoms, some don't, some women carry condoms and some don't. If the man doesn't have one, maybe give him one of yours! If he has one, and you don't, great! If neither have one, then simply go to get one!

Thats shocking as is some of the other horror stories in this thread. We ended up telling the 2 joker's who couldn't use a condom to leave and entertained ourselves. This is why a spotter is essential I won't drink when we go to a club because my wife's safety and comfortability are of the upmost importance to me x

Not to play devil's advocate but I'm going to.

Is this an age related thing to some degree? All the people who have barebacked, not been good with condoms etc have been 50 plus in our experience.

We are in our 30s and people we have played with in there early 40s, 30s and 20s have all used condoms by default. Maybe the over 50s group weren't brought up with condoms in the same way younger generations have been?

I appreciate the problem will apply to all ages groups as well I'm only looking at our experiences x

We as a couple carry condoms but sometimes they aren't the right size for some guys you'd think they'd know this and get the right size condoms for themselves before going to a club to play?

Personally I think it's should be all parties who carry condoms, single people and couples.

I always carry condoms. Running out is different to not bringing any.

And yes, if someone suggests sex without sorting themselves out with condoms first I do experience that as a lack of respect. I know I’m clean, I have no idea about you.

I carry condoms on me most of the time have one in the wallet.

Even it’s a social or first date if I’m dating I always bring condoms with me.

Because you don’t know if would turn into something more sexual or not.

I would only go bareback if I was in a relationship with a girl or a long term lover where the mutual trust and respect has been build up.

Some don’t like it when you bring condoms out as they think you got something. Which surprises me considering how long safe sex has been taught in schools and campaigned about over the years.

In the situation you talk about OP, I think it’s because they think for them selves and safe sex doesn’t cross their mind because they just want to get the sex they want.

In the process not giving other club goers the respect they should.

I personally like to provide my own condoms. I’m always astonished that 95% of women in my experience expect the men to provide the condoms.

It’s just as much my responsibility as it is there’s. I now play as a couple and we take enough for both of us.

In my experience, 99% of guys who want to play with me (possibly higher, although I can think of a single exception) want to penetrate. The OP was talking about those who want to play with her.

I think that answer has to categories.

The lazy ones, who simply forget or cba with condoms, or think it's their playmates responsibility.

The ones who like bareback. They haven't brought any condoms, because they don't use them!

Steer clear if that's not your thing.

It would put me off for sure, but I always provide condoms, and like to use mine so I know for sure they're in date, seal not ripped or damaged etc...so u rarely find out if they're carrying tbh.

Although most of the club's I've been have a healthy supply of condoms. I always bring a pack with me just in case.

However I have been in rooms where women have said she wanted it bareback, which quickly made me think how many other men she has said that too... I quickly grabbed my towel and made my excuses... Thanks is but no thanks

"It's not all men.

I have been to a few clubs. Condoms were supplied. And used.

Bareback is a no no for me.

Please don't label all men the same.

Given that there are posts explicitly discussing what percentage of men do it, and nothing in the OP even implied it was anywhere like all men, I’m not sure how you come to the conclusion that ‘all men’ are being labelled the same?

Waan't directed at anyone.

I agree some blokes are idiots, and ruin it for others.

Just fed up of that really.

No. The condomless are just left hard and frustrated while the women go off to find someone with respect. It just makes us more appreciative of the respectful players imho."

Respectfulness is key if you ask me a lot of people just assume things are ok be it not using a condom or touching uninvited it upsets me when I'm a club and I see this happern yes we are there for fun or we wudnt be there you can tuck condoms in towl or the pencil cases ( which I'm now Gona notice lol) but yer don't need to tuck respect and common decency of being polite anywhere it should be in you those without ruin it for all the decent people be it guys or ladies couples etc

Does anyone have any insights into why someone might go to a club, look to play (because I’m not twisting their arm) and NOT have condoms on them? Especially at play parties.

I have an arm wallet which we keep condoms, lube and locker keys in. We have experienced people trying to slip it in with out one and also taking one off when in doggy position. I think it's that some guys feel in clubs that they have paid, not just to get in, but that it's a brothel and they deserve to get their needs met.

We've also had arranged meets at home when people haven't brought them which I find unbelievable as it states clearly on our profile it isn't happening unless condoms are worn. Male

The condom availabilty thing is an issue.

The simplest solution would be for the clubs to have a healthy stock of condoms and lube throughout the club. I've seem some clubs take this approach and it doesn't take anyone by surprise.

I also know that the local health authorities do make free condoms available to clubs because prevention is significantly cheaper than trying to manage the medical issues post an infection.

With that in mind, I'm always a little surprised when some clubs then sell protection at a premium. Its on a par with catching a Ryanair flight and being sold a lifejacket in the departure lounge!

Anyway, I'm a good boyscout.... be prepared!

I’m always losing the condoms. I now keep a few spare them in my wife’s bra.

The funniest moment was in a group play and a chap who was nothing to do with us, reached out and put his hand in my wife’s bra to pull out a condom!

Could possibly be seen as inappropriate, but it made us both laugh!

It is inappropriate but that being said he clearly knew where to find a condom and used it, so perhaps a pat on the back and we would have laughed too

There are lots of people who don't bring condoms to clubs, but I don't think it's an issue with some clubs, for example clubs where there's a big bowl of them on the counter or they sell them at the reception so people buy them on the way in. I guess you're talking more about the people who get involved in intimacy without having protection on them at that point.

They’re always in our play bag that we take to clubs. But when we went on Saturday we totally forgot and left them in the locker! luckily the couple we played with had some or it would have changed the mood a little rushing back to the locker to retrieve them! I wouldn’t mind but they are in a little bag on their own and easy to hang around my wrist so no excuse!

It’s a complete mood killer.

I was at a well known bi-weekly event with a friend. He was watching as an older guy (early sixties) and I played, my chum stopped play when the pr**k took his condom off as he was about to enter me. Mightily pissed off. Mood ruined and air blue.

I appreciate the problem will apply to all ages groups as well I'm only looking at our experiences x"

We have seen plenty of guys try it on both recently and way back in the day. When I was a single guy I took condoms, simple as. It is laziness combined with the hope you'll be invited to bareback. Have some respect for the women in clubs, without taking condoms you are showing them none whatsoever.

We’ve never been to a club but we’ve had a meet were the condom has completely ripped, I (male) let them know and got told to just carry on. This made me hornier knowing the risks and the fact they didn’t care. What normally happens at clubs in that scenario or has that happened to anyone before?

I suspect the laziness one is a common answer. Either they expect to find free ones at the club or the people they plan in getting intimate with having a supply. Those that try to go BB (either blatantly from the start or the more sinister whipping it off just before cumming) are a different beast altogether and it really isn't on. A simple matter of respect for the people you are with and at least check with them first. Yes, there are a number of people who like to BB and that's their choice. Yes, there are potential consequences but one assumes they are aware of them and are taking a calculated risk. There's a risk to most things we do. Smoking, driving, choice of food we eat etc, etc. Sometimes the risks are more subtle or what we consider better "odds" or the effects may not hit us for years. Maybe it's because our world feels so much safer in many ways that we have a primal instinct to want to take risks. Who knows. But trying to go BB without at least talking about it is the height of disrespect

Agree with OP - this is really not in i think.

Indeed there are a number of single guys who not only hope for bareback, but o have seen try to sneak their way in.

Unfortunately at a recent party, one guy got his way and not only penetrated condom less but also came inside her without consent.

She was completely distraught, and rightly so, that's r-a-p-e in my view.

The guy had taken off by the time everyone realised what had happened, (and it wasn't that long after) leading me to believe he had done this before.

I think guys like this ought to be blacklisted period across all clubs.

I think it is incumbent that we look out for each other and if this behaviour is noticed that it is brought to the attention of the couple or woman that this is about to take place to confirm if that is their wish.

The 1 guy who failed in the condom department quickly got told to go get one or no play. Didn't take him long to find one. Will never ever consider bareback apart from trim. ( We have been together 7 years and live together)

To me that's a boyfriend/husband privileged.

And yes there's usually condo s about , on the bar etc

And we would always offer one if someone had ran out

But if they said they didn't have any , then we might wonder why

When we swapped , swapped

The condom thing was a big issue

Not using them , that's a given

But in a 4sum we go through loads !

It's not like we just swap , it's any combination of play ,

So lots of condom changing

He then went to put a condom on but I told him he had ruined the mood and stopped all play and asked everyone to leave the room. A few disappointed guys spoke to him after and made it clear it wasnt cool.

I’m agreeing with the op, in fact we were at the same party the other week and it amazed me how many guys turned up without condoms. I always carry them however I was emptied out that night for use with me and passing them out for use with others, same thing happened a week later however was another friend of mine that had all of hers given away.

It’s common courtesy to bring them, not all clubs and events provide them, the parties I refer to specifically say to bring condoms with you as they aren’t provided.

And don’t get me started with the number of guys that try it on, had one the other week, oh can I not do you raw I don’t like condoms.

My answer: I’ve fucked 5 guys before you, if you think I’ll fuck you bare what makes you think I wouldn’t with the others - you ain’t special now bag it up or no play.

His answer .... oh yeah I’ll pop one on, do you have one as I didn’t bring any!

Just to make it clear the others were all covered!

I have to admit it's always a pain trying to find somewhere to put them in clubs that demand undies only in the play areas.

I've tended to stuff them into my undies, otherwise you feel like a div walking around with a roll of rubbers.

I however would very much appreciate the humour of wearing them in an ammo belt across the shoulder

"Condoms are a mood killer you got that right

Not if you know how to put them on they're not and even if they were - the alternative to them is potentially going to be more of a mood killer

Last I heard, HIV/AIDS, gonorrhoea, syphilis, pelvic inflammatory disease and herpes were mood killers. BEST COMMENT! Ive said this before regarding bareback and the amount of folk who said i was talking crap! Lol lol u gotta laugh at bb brigade obv whatever std they have contracted is making them deluded..

X"

Great comments. I couldn't agree more. Go with condoms and put them on. Ive someone suggests not using then happy days if bareback is your thing . Alot of club going women wont bareback. I loss all respect for any man who think he can bareback

I usually take a small duffel bag with condoms, toys and kink equipment. But it goes in a locker unless required. I carry condoms around in a sports wrist band. I can fit four in there with more in the bag.

"Agree with OP - this is really not in i think.

I think that guys like this ought to go to prison, personally. It's sexual assault and it's illegal."

I agree surely it's sexual assault at a minimum if not R.a.p.e.

I wonder what would have happened if she had reported it to the police?

Yeah it was only last month the judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison as well as an extended licence period of six years.

Hopefully that hammers home the seriousness of the crime if any males even trys to thinks it's ok in a club to take off a condom when the woman can't see before penetrating her when she has stipulated safe sex only!

For every heterosexual man fucking BB at a club there has to be a woman allowing him and therefore it's not just men. This is what probably keeps the idea that it's ok rolling along. Just an observation.

How many women play with other women a clubs and are completely sure that the other hasn't been barebacking?

I have seen people try that trick as well.....

that and the other trick of putting on just the one and just trying to put it in different women one after another... thats just as nasty!

I had an experience in a club where a guy had put a condom on and had just fucked 1 lady and then turned round wanting to fuck me. He had the same condom on. I pointed out he wasnt going near me with that condom. He said its fine im covered! I said yeah u r protected. Some people are ignorant.

As for me taking condoms to a club is fine but i know that cocks come in various sizes and the sensation of wearing 1 is down to the man and if its too thick a condom, too big, too small it will effect their sensation. Surely u guys know which condoms fit and feel best for u?

Any blokes reading this should search ‘UK condom sizing’, then follow the advice about measuring their cock. Once they know how they react to latex, it’s much easier to buy condoms that fit you correctly, and are so comfortable you hardly notice you’re wearing one, and therefore enjoy playtime

That hardly protects passing something on from woman to woman though. And if there's a few involved....

This thread with so many having expressed their experience of clubbers not using condoms only highlights some real issues with playing at clubs and shows a greater increased risk than some would have us believe.

Since this thread also relevant to sexual health ,would like to point out someone's experience in a club which was mentioned here in the forum few months back.

They found a guy in the club fucking three different women with the same condom in a private room until one of the hubby noticed and asked him to stop.

Also men using fingers from one pussy to another in a play also is a massive risk of acquiring serious infections.

It doesn't make any difference whether it was a single guy invited in to play, or one of the hubbies, one condom shouldn't be used in three different pussies I just like hearing single guy success stories in clubs, and this guy had a great night by the sound of it

It’s r-a-p-e. A case like this has gone to court previously.

If she went to the police? She’d probably be judged for going to a sex club. Any jury would probably think she was asking for it - if it even got that far. Sexual assault is easy to get away with in the swing scene because women find it hard enough to bring charges as it is. Let alone if they’re also “easy.”

I have to disagree completely let's take the guy who got 12 years last month for taking the condom off without the women's consent. The woman was a prostitute and had agreed a fee for protected sex only the minute the guy took off the condom and entered her without consent it became r.a.p.e. No judgement was made in court by the judge or the jury about the fact that she was a prostitute consenting to a paid transaction for protected sex that was totally irrelevant in the same way if it was someone in a swinging club how had consented to sex with a condom prior.

Yep, the police *should* take such things seriously. Any sexual act fir which consent has not been received is at least assault and a criminal offence.

More than one case in Britain has been successfully prosecuted including the abovementioned escort's client. Cops are trained to be respectful of sex workers and swingers.

I agree that the principle is the same as I mentioned earlier up the thread.

It would be more difficult to prove however in a club situation or a more vanilla situation. That will more likely be a he said/she said one word against the other.

In the case of the escort there will have been evidence be it emails or texts that agreed the terms of the services she was to provide. Bareback was not an agreed term.

Each case would be individual for sure so let's a quick look at the example the poster mentioned.

The guy was found out after he had fled but he had left semen inside her. If she had protected sex with other guys that night they could testify safe sex was the only option. You have a case where there's multiple witnesses to call on. As it's a party chances are there's a message trail right back to the accused those messages may even state safe sex only. The point been this tends to happen in a busy environment so there's a chance the facts could be established through multiple witnesses as opposed to a he said she said situation.

The biggest point to take a way (and this thread was a learning curve for me as well) is that if your a guy in a club and you think oh I'll whip off this condom and fuck her bare no one will notice then understand by thinking that your actually planning to r.a.p.e someone I truly thing many of the guys who have done / even considered this don't realise what the gravity of thier choice is.

In a club local to us a male was deliberately cutting the ends of his condom before entering woman he was caught on a number of occasions I even spoke with one lady who he did it to. Apparently it was reported to the club and he was banned but then managed to get back in further down the line and did it again. I personally think if those dealing with him knew that the law considers his actions sexual assault / r.a.p.e they may have dealt with him more harshly.

In my experience (and the experience of statistics) women are still treated very poorly by the police and others, and more often than not will be blamed to some degree.

"We’ve never been to a club but we’ve had a meet were the condom has completely ripped, I (male) let them know and got told to just carry on. This made me hornier knowing the risks and the fact they didn’t care. What normally happens at clubs in that scenario or has that happened to anyone before?

Actually one of our verifications

"

Are you crazy? ....I don’t see how the risk of picking up something nasty makes you horny????

Both men and women are responsible for protecting themselves....

being turned on or not wanting to spoil the mood are both poor excuses .... if the man or woman are saying yes to going bareback... I would hazard a guess that you would not be the first person they have said it too .... and while they may seem clean... they could have had multiple people that evening/day that were not.

I’m sorry but there is no excuse for being that stupid....

....

I doubt anyone who has contracted a sti has ever thought that the f**k was worth it.

Its not all guys obviously but some are idiots and spoils it for the rest.

I am flabbergasted to see that this still happens alot these days.I saw it a few weeks ago when a lady handed out a few to help the guys out..lol..she was very generous..lol

I had to give some condoms in the past to guys because they didn't have any and I was like wtf. You come to a party or meet without any. Its so disrespectful in my opinion towards the lady or couple. Its beyond me.

Its like a guy seeing a lady playing and decides to just jump in and they havent spoke. Thats just wrong.

And what about those that try and slip it in without a condom or takes it off during doggy style.lol

But some ladies dont mind bareback and encrouages it and others have some in their bag to hand out like a charity on the night..lol..

no glove no play should be the rule ladies. Clint

As a woman (S here) I think the responsibility should be down to both parties. Why would you go to a swingers club as a single woman looking to play without them yourselves? It’s quite an old fashioned consent that it’s the man who provides condoms. And as you say if no one has any then walk away.

If you happen to be passing a club and you can't resist the urge to check it out, I guess nobody would buy that excuse for not bringing condoms.

I concur... I too always bring condoms with me (granted 9 times out of ten I have never needed to use my own... but having said that I would also expect the man to have his own of course..

Not bringing any at all is just plain stupidity

Condoms and sex for a guy putting it mildly is pointless. Zero feeling and zero pleasure. Hence why I don't bother with clubs. I'd much rather get to know someone so a good relationship can be built on trust. I'm not interested in having lots of people anyways.

So why do you say "safe sex" on your profile ?
