Where did Starlings nest before houses

Up on them there hills

‘Cos one little shit sits outside the bedroom window and calls at first light, then has a flight path that shits on one of the cars.

Any answers to (cough) discourage them?

Spikes. Long ones. You see them on lampposts and bullrings in town centres. Harsh but sometimes needed.

The fuckers come back every year as well. Spikes dont work as it was designed for pigeons so they cant land. Starlings just squeeze through them. Most contractors wont touch them if they have already started nesting. I have grown to hate the fuckers
