Sometimes people lie as a source of escapism. If they tell the lie long enough they can start to believe it's true. People lie in the real world also. On here they probably think it will help them get a meet, it won't just be men though, couples and females as well to a certain extent xx

This. Nobody ever thinks they will get caught. There is 80 odd thousand people in jail who thought they could get away with dishonesty.

Yes I’m finding that out more and more a guy I’ve been chatting to and met for a few weeks had 2 profiles only got found out as we moved chat to kik must of forgot my profile name and messaged me including his pic numpty !

I (f) met a bloke off a different site, he keeps making random excuses why he can't meet again.

The latest was on in China on holiday , he drives buses for EDF, the very next day I spotted him in the drivers seat of one of the buses parked up by pelican crossing.

A totally pointless lie.

Nobody’s perfect.

We all have some reason a lie could cover up things.

But you will be found out.

Technology is used here and people lie about location for example. Age is my favourite on another site.

Embrace life. Be fun. Be happy.

Think before you speak.

Many probably lie as they lack self confidence or just enjoy the thrill of the chase.

Others as they just want some wank fodder or never thought anybody would ever talk to them.

Others lies have grown over time. They have spent a long time getting no response so have slowly edited their profile and pictures to the point it no longer reflects them, but does hit a higher level things women are looking for.

I've been as honest as I can be. My profile is truthful. It is what it is.

When I joined years ago, I did 'accidentally' lose a few years from my age (can you blame me!), but you know what?, I've had more interest since I became my proper age!!!
