Likewise not offended but how some people chose their user name bemuses me!

I love to see the amusing ones clearly given some thought, avoid the ones with absolutely no thought and I suppose as it’s a swinging site there will always be those who feel the need to dig into the crude or vulgar box!

First impressions count, especially on a site like this where the shop window is busy

Personally crude names make us skip past.. it’s up here with the toilet in the back ground or the empty beer cans and ashtray profile pics

It’s different for everyone of course

I can't recall ever seeing a username that actually offended me, nor any that were even mildly irritating. I've seen plenty that are a bit crude for me, and a few cringe-inducing ones, but generally a name wouldn't put me off someone. I'm sure some folk think my name is daft, I don't mind!

This

A username can often give you an instant idea of a persons outlook or attitude to the scene.

I wouldn’t set much store by a username. Far more important is how they interact in real life, face to face. I often think to much store is set by what people write here.

Some types of usernames have been highlighted in the past as being off-putting to people. I'm fairly open minded, trying to focus on the person instead and realise some people perhaps don't like mine.

A lot of single guys seem to fall into the position of using explicit but off-putting names, perhaps assuming it makes them a draw.A bit like some think over-revving their car makes them more masculine

Yes, it may only be words but to me it says a little about their way of thinking and it had absolutely put me off people. First impressions and all that jizz.

I always wonder whether a person’s username is a sobriquet rather than a pseudonym.

In case of the former, depending on the name, one’s reputation may be quite interesting!

There's two of you on my Hotlist with very similar usernames - confuses the heck out of me when you both post new pics/status updates around the same time

As for the original question - nope usernames don't offend me as such, make me cringe and would put me off conversing/meeting them though.

I've had some rather amusing ones add themselves to guest lists. It's funny when they arrive and sheepishly mumble "pussysmashingstud*" to you when you ask them their username.

We never get offended by their choice of name. However, if it is an insight into them that we don't like it will put us off arranging a meet. Yes, we know it's superficial, but if someone has taken the time and thought to want to be known as Mrrockhardveinydickwithcumspurtingoutofit, then we know more than enough to make a decision
