Catalyst for Swinging

Hi all.

We have been talking to a lot of swinging couples recently/reading swinging blogs etc. It seems that there is usually a major catalyst for a couple starting to swing together.

The most recent we have heard were "we were about to split up" and "one of us had an affair".

What if any was the major catalyst which started you're swinging journey.

Nothing as dramatic as that I'm afraid. Started off taking naughty pics, moved onto cam fun and from there went to a club. The rest as they say.....

Personally I think swinging is the last thing you shpuld be doing if you're about to split or are bored. However, I'm not slating anyone for doing it - each to their own, but personally I think if we were in that situation it would do us more harm than good.

The short answer for us is, Kate was genuinely upset and racked with guilt about having fantasies about women. So we investigated prior to that neither of us had ever done anything like this either alone or with partners. Our only experience of the scene was watching Donald and Jacqueline on Benidorm!

Because we thought it might be fun and interesting. In practice its been both of those things but not for the reasons that we imagined.

People looking to swinging to fix an existing issue in their relationship is usually a bad idea! We have un-whittingly played with a couple of couples in this situation, its unbalanced, unfair, deceitful and left us feeling somewhat used.

We're in this for mutual fun, not to provide sexual or relationship therapy for other peoples dysfunctional partnerships.

Anyone that gets into swinging for those reasons is heading for disaster

Ive seen many couples who entered swinging for those reason crash and burn within months

We have both always been sexually adventurous and wanted to see how far we could go with it, after spending 8 years + together we wanted to see if we could handle it and find it enjoyable and an enhancement and it did !

As others have said, if that's the catalyst it is going to end in tears. Must admit I'd steer way clear of any couple if I even suspected that that was the case.

As for us, we met on here, spent a fair few months as FWB's while both meeting other people, got together as a couple, had a break from meeting other people but always knew that that was only a temporary thing.
