There's been a lot of threads started about how hard it is to get replies to messages and hence how hard it is to get a meet.

Here's a few tips that might help improve your chances of getting some action in your inbox.

1. Be a woman

2. If you can't be a woman, be part of a couple with a woman

3. If you can't manage 1 or 2 then read on.

4. Fit the criteria - you're unlikely to get a response if you're not what the person you are messaging is looking for.

5. Read and respond to the profile. People go to the effort of writing a profile for a reason and you ignore it at your peril. Don't ask what people are into if they've spelled it out in their profile.

6. Put some effort into your message - women and couples get a lot of messages and yours needs to stand out and be worth reading.

7. Make your message fun and easy to respond to. Back and forth one liners are tiresome...Put some thought in.

8. Make sure that your profile is accurate.

9. Be polite

10. Don't spam someone with lots of messages, it comes across as needy and that's not attractive.
