Be interesting to see what the council will do, now it knows that men are charged £30 and Women £10....

Since this is a regular topic about the cost to single men and equality etc etc

Nothing I'd have thought, as they sound far more concerned with closing it down. Even the Daily Moan didn't sound outraged by the discrepancy. And as someone else pointed out in another thread, it is legal to charge different prices if you can demonstrate that one group will be underrepresented without doing so.

Watch the numbers of women plummet when the put club prices up to £35 (what, you were hoping prices would drop?!)

No, I fully understand why there is a different price structure, the clubs would be unworkable.

Past topics have focused on someone needing to make a claim under discrimination, but no one would probably have the courage to do so...

I think you're right and even if they did I don't think they'd be successful.

The local Southampton rag ran this story too. Most of the reader's comments were along the lines of 'so what?' or 'nobody's business what goes on between consenting adults' ... I think they were expecting public outrage. Blew up in their faces somewhat.

this story broke yesterday in the local rag the one that copies most of its stories from the morning tabloids as for the issue at jct whatever you have read in the daily moan is not about equality of pricing but the fact that they think that the owner/s run a business and they arent paying business rates the council are trying to say about parking noise etc as a cover when in fact it must be a good mile to the next house they have parking at the house and there is a large layby opposite which no one uses at night except perhaps the odd trucker the council havent expressed views on what happens there but are focusing on the business rates it comes down to desperation by the councils as they are short of funding so they say so they need all the money they can get hence putting up charges everywhere so they can make sure they have their expenses and build silly statues for 70 grand etc that no one wants look up the daily rag and you will find a very one sided biased story as regards to neighbours etc or better go on the website and google map it you will see how far the neighbours are away from the property and yes we have been there and enjoyed ourselves immensely

From my understanding, the council are claiming it's being run as a business. The owner is saying the guest are giving voluntary contributions to the cost of the parties. So take him at his word and bring a £5 to 'cover' his costs. If it's voluntary, how can they tell the guests how much to give as per the website?.

Wish they would bloody leave the Clubs alone, we love socialising at swingers clubs and if we play then a bonus. As a post further up said, it's just the council trying to get money in. Wish ppl would stop going on about cost, if you don't want to pay then bloody simple don't dam well go, just stop. Lordy moaning. Hope the owners keep open as nice little club, a lot of the small clubs are

I've part time opening, why should they pay full business rates, ohh live and let

Live xxxx

Hope to enjoy clubs for many years to come love them xxxx

The nearest house is in fact over the road from the club, in the lay-by. Someone living there must have some political clout, as the lay-by used to be a truck stop and they got that closed down last year.

I think that this (above) is the longest sentence I have ever read; it's certainly the longest I've seen without punctuation.

It's their manner of communicating ( checked profile ), personally, having been brought up in typewriter age when people had comma's and stuff, couldn't make head or tail out of it.

The place is a shit hole now and has been for a while ...we used to host SDC parties there back when it was called Swingers Junction before we moved to France and used to get 60 plus couples.. Heard from many the place is run down and dirty now and not very well run.

Such a shame really cause back in the day a was becoming one of the best clubs in the south.

Shutting it down is prob a blessing.

I quite like the minimalist approach to punctuation and wonder if the sentence read in one breath would be a testimony to one's oral skills full stop

Can't agree with this, we feel the reverse is true. While the SDC parties may well have been the exception to the rule, we found the old club very badly run with poor hosting, singles there on couples only nights, and too many singles on the mixed nights. Where as the new club had a total refurb and much more efficent staff and a way of running, that's just our teams consensus.

Well we went 2 years ago and it was awful they had tried to turn the kitchen into a bar and a crappy old marquee in the garden for smokers... Hardly a quality refurb..

The night in question was full of single guys in nothing but scruffy street clothes and the coupes were all BBW's .

The owner back then I agree didn't have the will to want to do anything with the place ,although we kept on at him to put his hand in his pocket.

We did the parties for over 5 years with a couple of other couples and the parties were the busiest and best in the history of the place..

If you ask people that attended parties back then I'm sure most would agree, but everyone's entitled to their opinion.

I bet now you don't see couples from all corners of the uk travelling down to visit Junc 2..

The refurb we are referring to happened last year when the two new Dungeon rooms were put in.

We haven't been this year yet, but we plan to unless it closes, but last year the club was certainly doing well and you're description didn't match our experience.

We went to an SDC party sometime back (4/5 years ago) so am guessing that was one of yours and it was good, but we heard the other nights were not, which is why we came then.

The venue itself, physically certainly changed a great deal since we first saw it and all the changes were for the better. Can't comment about what was happening two years ago, as we weren't on the scene at all in 2010. In 2011 it was busy and there were people from all over.

This wouldn't be the first venue to go through more than one bad patch.

We went once about a year ago and thought it was a bit of a dump. We've also spoken to guys who've been to gang bangs there and found the only females involved were 'working'.
