Cleanliness at meets

So..I'm someone who likes to be clean both before and after any meet. As like most ppl I work druing the day which means I sometimes meet on the way home (ususally because person is close to work)..is it wrong of me then to request using their shower to freshen up if I'm meeting someone at their place/at their hotel?

I do know some folks arent as bothered but its a personal preference so was wondering how others would feel?

If I were meeting someone on the way home from work and had a busy, sweaty day I'd certainly send a message asking if it would be OK to have a quick shower.

I think it’s very considerate, and can’t see why anybody wouldn’t want that ?

Nothing wrong with that. Always fun if they get in the shower with you too x

I was thinking the same...its just sometimes I feel like the other party must be thinking (why not just go home and shower) ...but yes I do msg first and ask if its ok to freshen up.

I wouldn’t let anyone visit my home.

I would expect them to have organised themselves better re timing so they would go home and use their own facilities....

It’s not romantic on a meet them heading straight for the shower.....

South Side.

I always offer people a chance to freshen up, especially if they have travelled a long way. I'm surprised some don't accept the offer.

It's better to ask for a shower than be asked to shower

I should have clarified I dont ask to take a wash every time I meet someone. On pre-planned meets I do wash/freshen up...however as explained at the start some times when a sudden meet is on the cards I will ask.

As for meeting at home...thats a personal choice. Some don't but others do.

As for going home first, not always possible depending on where said meet is and espcially not if it's a sudden meet.

I don't think I would be bothered. I always shower before meets and after. Plus if you have a shower at theirs I mean, we can always join you when you're fresh

I would ask no problem and expect them to ask too. Due to shifts I may be starting to see one of my regular partners after work so he knows I'll be requiring a shower first

When we have a meet or go to a party even, I always ask to use their shower if we've left home (and showered) more than an hour. Yes, we like to be shower fresh when playing and we expect the same from whom we're playing with.

I absolutely hate staleness.

So OP, you are quite right, carry on showering.

I'd much prefer someone to ask to use the shower when time has been against them than to discover half way through a meet that they don't know what hygiene is xx

I don't think there's anything wrong with requesting to freshen up and feel it demonstrates not only self-respect but also courtesy for the person; you are meeting.

I am always looking to meet while I am working as a delivery driver , I’m not a smelly unclean guy so would thing it’s ok not to have to have showered immediately before meeting

I will add, that if they are someone I've gotten to know. The situation would be different and they could happily use my shower, upon arrival

I'd have that conversation first.

I have done this a couple of times.

It wasn't a problem. I recently had a candle lit bath ran for me accompanied by a glass of wine whist relaxing in the bath. Now that was agood night.

Then really make yourself comfortable. Perhaps take a short nap, 20 minutes of home pilates and make a sandwich...ahhh home at last!

Some of us have long commutes. For me, nipping home for a shower in order to meet someone near my place of work would defeat the purpose of meeting near work by introducing a two and a half hour round trip.

I get the impression OP is in a similar situation.

Why I don't meet people after work or who travel far to me. I don't want stinky people and I'm not providing washing facilities!

Afterwards, they can freshen up before leaving after I've dirtied them!

You know you can take your belongings into a bathroom and lock the door.

He might not get a second chance if he smells of sweaty arse.

There may not be a lock on the door and even if the bag was in the bathroom with him he is in the shower. I do know someone this happened to.....

We've had many a meet where the chap is on way home. We don't mind at all them asking to take a shower, before we play.

It's not unheard of for them to request another before they leave. So not to smell of my perfume ect.

I would rather they request a shower than not!

I'd expect people to be freshly cleaned for a meet and generally to make their own arrangements. It's feasible to shower at your gym or you could visit a public swimming pool, to shower, if you weren't a gym member. I don't rule out people showering at mine but it's generally better if people arrive and are good to go, for me.
