Talking to a friend yesterday he was just kind of saying that his libido was not so good because he is becoming old and for women is worst... he thinks that women libido is gone after menopause and that middle age and mature ladies who want to fuck a lot is because they didn’t have enough sex when they were young...

In my opinion it is a matter of inhibit sex drive or not. I believe that some women are able to carry on with a huge sex life while others decided they are too old and inhibits it.

What do you think?

Something similar was in the "agony aunt" page in the paper yesterday....a guy saying his wife didn't want sex any more now she's post menopausal.

I have never had so much fun sex wise and my drive hasn't diminished at all. Need more lube than I used to but that's hardly a major problem.

You may be right in that I didn't get good sex when I was younger. So maybe I'm making up for lost time

(I'm aware not all women may feel this way)

I’m the wrong side of 49 and I’ve becer felt more confident or enjoyed sex more in my life. True I’m nit a size 8 anymore but rarely have I had a complaint ....hubby loves I’m very sexual .. we make love most days even if it’s a hurried quickie ...they can seem very naughty if you have to be quiet

I have lots of girl friends post menopausal and none of them have reported a drop in sex drive lol though I know a few with other medical issues that have. Tbh I more here about their man's libido dropping off than theirs

I think you might be on to something about past sex lives ... as I've always had a grand one but now unless it's going to be grand can take it or leave it but noticed single friends from more sheltered backgrounds are going a bit more wild

The male sex drive is hormone-related. Men’s testosterone production starts declining, maybe as early as during their late twenties. Also, long familiarity, especially with just one partner, causes reduced excitement.

Women’s’ sex drive is largely hormone-independent, and many post-menopausal women really enjoy the feeling of still being able to sexually excite men. I have known pre-menopausal women who needed lubrication because of temporarily diminished libidos.

Everyone’s different.

The key thing to consider when it comes to women and their sex drive is that we are all individuals. According to many threads started by men women of all ages have low libidos so that's the age thing debunked. I think older women generally enjoy a more understanding and experienced lover who is able to engage her mind and body. It's about much more than losing ones sex drive too, cultural and societal influences make it far less acceptable for older women to be sexy or enjoy sex. Even on fab as soon as a guy asks where he can find older women people make hilarious quips about the pension queue and bingo halls .

I think it varies. My sex drive was through the roof during my forties but calmed down in my fifties. Maybe it will have a resurgence, who knows?

Mrs N's has diminished but she is very stressed by stuff going on as well. I just so hope life gets a bit easier for her soon as she is brilliant lady and so easy going. When she does play she is the best.

R found that she doesn't have that urgent, hormonal drive for sex she always had before the menopause. But that hasn't inhibited her doing it; she still enjoys our regular fucking, her swaps and her greedy girl sessions. But it usually takes a bit longer for her to cum than she did, and she doesn't squirt much these days.

Too a certain extent yes, but alot of the time mother nature has effect on matters, and you can't fight human biological changes.

Diet too, some foods and drinks help boost the sex drive regardless of age.

Women have a very complex system, I think all the changes they go through both physically, mentally and emotionally govern their ability to enjoy sex too.

I do find the sexuality of the mature ladies alluring.

I am menopausal and take HRT. I get it off the internet coz my GP gave me 3 months worth and then refused to give it me again. (I dont have any medical reasons for not having it fyi). I have stopped hot flushes and night sweats,and am not quite so cranky as I was. Sex drive is just fine thank you. No additional lube required either. My ex had to take Viagra!

Can you let me know what you take? I stopped night sweats after 2 years not long ago and got flushes have stopped now. According to the docs it’s all due to depression which is weird considering it’s my body and you’d think I would know what is up with me.

There are risks to HRT, mainly female cancers, DVT and strokes and once you stop taking hormones, you go perimenopausal again.

Please, be extremely careful.
