Yes I tend to concentrate on similar but still find it hard to find genuine people who want to meet.

Believe me I am no novice, I have been on Fab at different times since 2008 so I do know the pitfalls.

And noticed the meets dwindle as I get older ha ha

Doesn't bother me or hinder me in the slightest OP and I'm a similar age to you - it's the same as any other preference or criteria that people have.

As someone else said I focus on those who would potentially be interested in meeting me rather than worry about those who wouldn't - which I'm sure is what you'd say to anyone over 65 who wanted to meet you

The veri's are from couples I have met in the past not this month.

I have been on Fab on and off since 2008, And I have known both couples for few years.

I wouldn't want to meet a lady young enough to be my daughter,just wouldn't seem right. It does rather annoy me when couples & ladies I would like to meet have 50 or 55 & that four letter word "only" on their profile. I know it's their choice,but it does limit the number of people us older men can message.

It's bleeding obvious that men over fifty are less attractive to women on here.

A quick survey of the first thirty women near me looking for men shows the the percentage of women willing to meet men in the following age brackets

18-20 33%

21-30 77%

31-40.90%

41-50 87%

51-60 37%

61-70 23%

71+. 17%

Note the big drop when men hit their fifties.

Now I am 'old', compared with the bulk if not all punters responding to this thread. I didn't join Fab until after the big 70 and despite the age preference frequently showing an open minded "18 - 99"; I have struggled to get responses! I am open/honest about my age and marital status and am realistic in the sense that I approach 'older' couples and 'older' single women. I am not over weight and am fitter than many guys on here (if their profile is anything to go by) 10 or even 20 years my junior! BUT I have made a few friends with whom I enjoy mutually enjoyable sexual encounters...! Please don't write us older men or women off - we are entitled to a sex life as much as anyone else... and our experience has often taught us stuff you might just enjoy.

I am afraid that the harsh truth is that most people consider older bodies to be less sexually attractive than younger bodies.

Woman over Fifty will get plenty of offers because of the massive sex imbalance on here. Males over fifty will always struggle.

Fair enough, this 'lifestyle' is all about sharing an openness towards sexual preferences and 'mores', consent and pleasure. Of course age (an age preference) is an obvious one, and I am certainly not suggesting it isn't, I am definitely not on here in pursuit of young, inter-generational encounters, in the end there has to 'attraction'...!

I was introduced to swinging by a couple some 10/15 years younger than me when I went to Switzerland on a skiing holiday. They were very warm and friendly and invited me to eat with them as I was on my own in the same hotel and this 'evolved' into sharing a bed (more accurately the wife) ultimately because there was a mutual attraction. Isn't that the key word, 'attraction'... I am not going to spend time with and certainly not seek intimacy with people where there is no 'attraction', that would be perverse!

I do however want 'younger' folk to simply recognise/acknowledge that for some (many) of us old'uns sexual interest and desires do not do evaporate with age!

We don't. That would make us in our 70s. I think it's easy to tell from our pictures we aren't that old. I agree that some people lie about their age, we met a guy who claimed to be 30. He wasn't a day over 23

That is a drop and one that doesn't surprise me, but that still leaves more than 10 who would potentially meet men in their 50s (given the usual caveats around connection and attraction etc) - which when you extrapolate that out over a wider area/sample becomes a bigger number still and surely a big enough number for any decent person to find someone that interests them, and they interest in return.

As I said further up, I prefer to focus on those that will potentially meet me rather than worry about those that won't for whatever reason (age, sexuality, beard etc) they do so

Everyone has a shit time finding people (except single females of course) you just have to persevere. Or give up of course, that's an option but complaining about it gets noone anywhere

It’s a lot more about the connection and attraction for me. I do, however, find (in most cases) that younger guys have greater stamina (not always).

In general younger guys do the older ones pant and puff like a steam train so good if you feel nostalgic.

This is an age old trope isnt it. Society tells us to desire the young and beautiful but we have little in common with them so if we have any sense we stick with people around our age but unfortunately as we get older we have to compete more to maintain ourselves physically when compared to the body conscious youths of today which is mentally and physically knackering. The solution could be a quick wank and another slice of cake but that’s short term thrills and ultimately quite emotionally draining. Personally I have been lucky enough to meet a few women who have left dead relationships and were looking for adventures and its been a lot of fun for them and me!

But what if someone desires the slightly older and craggy but still beautiful and is desperately trying to avoid cake due to already being too fat.
