Hi all,

Some time ago a friend of mine caught an sti after giving a guy a blowjob. Until he told me this had happened, I was unaware that this was possible.

I've since read that the only way to have safe oral sex, is to use a condom (either flavoured or regular).

My question for fabland is do most people do this? Or perhaps you consider the chances of getting an infection too small?

Lol risk with all acts. Myself no I would rather not engage in oral if a condom is used. Kinda pointless to me , yet these same people are happy to kiss

There is no point in 'wish I hadn't' after the event'... If in doubt, then don't... A condom is some form of assurance and their use may help you sleep better at night...Bareback if you must but never with a total stranger...

Some people say they don't use one others say they do and just as many lie. There is always a risk its something you have to calculate before any sexual act but if we all panicked there would be no swinging at all.

I have had oral using a condom in the past but it’s a bit like chewing a toffee with the wrapper still on, it’s not a nice taste and the spermicide makes my tongue go numb but if that is how they want it who am I to protest

I understand unprotected oral is considerably lower risk than vaginal or anal sex, and for me (and many other people it would seem from club visits and forum comments) it's a risk I'm prepared to take. Giving a blow job with a condom on isn't much fun. You have to decide on what level of risk is acceptable to you.
